Yep got up at 0400 to close all the windows, plus we are dog sitting the in-laws dogs, one of which had a minor meltdown as soon as the thunder started at 0600.

    Power surge claimed our receiver.
Anyone have one they want to get rid of?
Ours is pretty old and we need one with 2 sub outputs, optical audio outs, and these style channel speaker outs.

I think those have an internal fuse... have you looked inside for any obvious signs of magic smoke leaks? ;)

Open it up and it might be able to be fixed.

Denon is good stuff. IIRC, they are made by Marantz.

Did you have a surge protector in between as well or just plugged in directly to the wall?

    Sacrificial or non-sacrificial?

Just curious. Knock on wood I’ve had a Monster Power non-sacrificial powerbar for nearly 10 years and it hasn’t failed me yet.

Might be a good investment to protect your next receiver and any other things you got hooked up to it.

    That's a different model. I'm going with a 5.1 model 540BT.

Standard protector, didn't know there was a difference.

Depending on the model the standard surge protectors that are sacrificial may or may not have a fault indicator light representing whether protection is active or not. Sacrificial surge protects can continue to function as a regular power bar even after protecting against a single surge. Once that single surge hits it there is no further protection.

Non sacrificial surge protectors will have a reset button and circuitry that will protect against multiple surges.

No idea why the battery is dying. I have since charged it twice and it runs down after the engine is off. I don’t have another battery to test if it’s the battery itself or another issue. I got hit hard on the passenger front wheel. Its no longer centered in the wheel well. Wants to move back and rub the fender walls. Not really responding to the steering wheel either.

Odd the battery is having an issue now. Some sort of short I'd guess that's draining it.

Did someone say snow? Woke up to this and had to hustle to make it to Ouray. But not without incident...
Watched a car directly in front of me slide of the edge of the cliff just slightly after Red Pass. It was the stupidest thing I've done trying to drive in that. Truck had no grip and the snow was unbelievable thick and falling hard. Car was going maybe 15 mph, I was going 8mph and nearly followed them over. I handed the video from the gopro to the sheriff. I'm not sure if they will give it back. He did get my info just in case.

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
Hoping last night’s snow is sign of a heavy winter season.
