Cool sway bar disconnect idea. Wonder how hard it is to get the pin back in.

As long as you are parked on level ground it should be pretty simple.

I considered going this route but a few things kept me from doing so- first being the fact that the sway bar is not really "disconnected" so much as you now have a whole lot of free play in the endlink- what this means is a sway-free experience followed by a hard stop and a sway now binding in an awkward position. For instance if you stuff one wheel and droop the other you will run out of "difference" that setup allows.

Also it's noisy and the amount of deflection in the sway bar rods does not inspire confidence.

My latest ass-hat idea is thinking of a way you could make a sway bar that is in two halves with a mating collar, such that you still remove the whole thing but it is simplified by being able to pull one half out then the other. This only really saves you having to wrestle the bar out from between the skid and frame (depending on your skid this might be impossible). Still 3 bolts each side...

    I worked almost every game.

Last night was a great game, sad they lost in OT, but it was still fun to watch. If they would look before they pass, they could have easily won it.

So today I did the sway bar delete. Did a little slalom at about 35 mph down the paved section of my road and again after I had cranked up my clickers to just shy of max compression damping.

I’d say negligible difference in how the truck handled compared to with the sway bar on. There is a tad more nose dive on sharp turns under acceleration but the truck certainly doesn’t handle like a boat.

Will be leaving it off for a while for full evaluation.

Good info. Try it with your clickers all the way soft.

Definitely more body roll at 35 mph slalom with 0 compression damping.

Yeah, I’ll try it out for several weeks but after today’s little test I think just cranking up the damping will be just fine for highway use......very glad I spent the extra $300 and got clickers.

What rate are your springs? I see you have a bumper so I'm guessing 650 or 700?

Did you adjust the clickers all the way around or just front?

I'll try to TL;DR but for compensating for no sway you want to use less clicks in the rear and more clicks in the front.
Body roll aside, without a front sway you are biased towards oversteer on the slalom/handling spectrum. More compression damping up front pushes you back towards understeer, but more compression damping in the back can push you back to oversteer again.

How many clicks does your suspension have? Try going half as many rear as your do front and see what happens.

    700 lb coils

Just adjusted the fronts. I’ve kept the rears at +8 clicks with the weight in the back. The first test was +10 clicks on the front, the second was +19 clicks and the last was at +1 click. Settled on +14 on the front and +8 on the rear.

ADS clickers are 20 clicks and affect both low and high speed inputs (though not independently like Fox DSC) and are overall valved to be progressive on compression and digressive on rebound IIRC.

Hey, what was the purveyor of odd and/or unique (security) bolts and nuts that you had mentioned a while back - it wasn’t Fastenal it was something else...?

You mean Belmetric? They're the ones I usually get my odds and ends from.

Oh and speaking of clickers where do your ADS shocks clickers mount in the rear? Was it like kings where you get a bracket you bolt in and it's already handled, or was there some drilling required?
