If only it was about calories and the number of them you ingest in a single day.

"Good Calories, Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes, while a monster of a read, sheds light on this horrible metric for attempting to understand why people are gaining weight.

In short, a calorie is not a calorie. Attempting to break down a system as sophisticated as the human body into a simple 'energy in = energy out' equation is nonsensical. This has been the problem with working through the process of understanding the human body since back in the Ancel Keys days. And yes, I graduated with a BSME and am intimately familiar with the conservation of energy principle.

Just went to the office to see if I could be comfortable with the ankle down all day. No go out until at least next Wednesday.

Happened early yesterday morning coming over the raised railroad crossing on Chandler and Arizona on my way into work. City bus was stopped in the right lane before the tracks to check for trains, with about 5-6 cars stopped behind it.. I changed lanes and went around.. went up and and over to find traffic dead stopped on the other side. Slowed down from about 40 to 20. brakes locked up at the end and I slid about 20-30 yards. Swerved to avoid most of it. Caught the back rear corner of a damn prius..

Bumper. Fender. Headlight. Grill. Outer Tierod sheared at the bolt. I'll salvage the grill, its just the top driverside tab and bottom tab that are broke. I can fix that. The headlight is usable, but I'll replace it anyways. everything else is getting replaced. Its at the shop now. estimate is just over $2500 and about 8 days.

I was thinking of a conversion, but wont be able to make it happen, or really even want to mess with it, as its going so quickly and smoothly right now. Its in good hands at the shop. Currently in @Milota95 's shop yard, so I'm going to go take a look at it and start working on the grill Saturday.

yes a plate bumper would be nice, and would have avoided this.. but really.. who plan for accidents, and thats a BS reason. lol.. this is my first accident too.

Thanks brah! Damn decent of you to say. A man from the ford dealership is bringing me a Raptor tomorrow. If they are willing to make it worth my while financially and sexually, I might be persuaded to let go of my Tacoma.

Haha I’m curious to see what sexual favors come to light! It’s crazy how many raptors are around this area. Almost more common than the standard f150.
