Im down to help if you want to come up to North Phoenix. I have the tools and love beer and pizza. UCA bushings are super easy. Are they polyurethane? Do you have the correct grease the manufacturer recommends?

Speaking of yards, I think I have asked this before but in case not... anybody know a good dude to do trees and/or anyone want to volunteer to DIY & buy two palms from home depot and not tell me where it came from?

I've been busting my butt trying to clean up my yard to make it look presentable but the builder gave me the cheapest, shittiest trees possible. One of them is dead on top and trying to turn into a bush apparently, the other is doing ok... sort of.
    yard2.jpg

(The ground plants I think are pretty alright given the fact I've only paid $80 for them all so far... and you can't even see the agave that's in the shadow of my pathetic tree-bush:bananadead:)

Looks like I need another 10 ton of rock! The paths are where I'm putting pavers... but trucks doa as you know, and neighbors rig is gone for another week. Got 3 descent palms to replant as well as a handfull of starter palms.
The big 14x14 square next to pool and area next to gate will be cemented Mar 30/31.

Onto another topic. Google wore me out. Is there a way to find out what vehicle an engine serial # came from?

So I bought a new motorcycle today, not just new to me, literally brand new. Husqvarna Vitpilen 401. Rode it home only to discover it had been pissing out all its trans fluid. It was driving just fine and not making noise. Its only about 15 miles from Go AZ in Scottsdale to my house. Hopefully the tech just forgot to tighten the fill plug and no major damage occurred. It leaked onto the chain and was thrown everywhere. They're picking it up tomorrow morning.

    I would lose my mind.

It'd be nice if you could just pick up bikes still in the crate.

Don’t even risk it. Make them pay all fees and do all the bs paperwork/ registration to get you a different bike. This one could be just fine, but that’s a whole lot of risk to take keeping that particular motorcycle.

Being overly cautious, that rear tire and brakes have been compromised as well as the transmission.

I wouldn’t accept anything less than a different bike and all fees covered, or full refund plus cash in your pocket to go elsewhere.

Dealer techs are often terrible and that’s the exact reason all the owners of the local dealerships would bring their personal bikes to our little performance shop for work back when I was a tech.

Sadly I'm going to agree you could have been killed by oiling the rear tire... new bike or new rear tire, new brake pads and some $$$$

I’m pretty sure that most bikes don’t have “transmission fluid” ... the motor and the transmission share an oil supply.

It’s probably 50/50 really. All Harley’s and most full size motocross bikes have a separate sump for engine and trans/ clutch fluid. Sport bikes are hit or miss whether it’s separate or not.

At first I wasnt thinking it was that big of a deal. The more I think about it the more I realize just how big of a deal it is. Even if its something simple like a loose fill plug, the fact that the rear tire was completely coated easily could have caused me to crash. They have a guy picking it up between 9-10 this morning but I have a work conference call at 9. I will be going to the dealership as soon as my phone call is done. I will be telling them not to touch the bike until I get there. Worst case scenario the dealership will have the bike in their hands and I wrote a check so I can cancel it. Maybe this is a sign.

Welp, I was wrong hahaha. It is "engine" oil but thats because the engine and trans do share oil on this bike. Apparently Im also the unluckiest(or luckiest since I didn't crash) person because I managed to suck a plastic bag into the chain (on the bikes very first ride) which wrapped around the output shaft and either wadded up and dislodged the output shaft seal or heated up enough to melt it/cause it to leak. It was a serious leak too.

Unfortunately I don't have an "out" because the bike literally had 0 miles when I bought it, nobody but myself has ever ridden this bike. I was ready to go in guns blazing, brought all my paperwork and everything. Im glad I typically have a cool head because it turned out to be a one in a million fluke. What really sucks is, I remember seeing a plastic bag floating across the road on my way home and I though it wasn't close enough to me to be a problem. Aaaahhhhhh life, isn't it fun?

On a good note, everyone at the dealership has been super chill and they are going to warranty it, only problem is they don't have a seal so its going to be 3 days. Hopefully it rains all week so I don't care about riding.
