Any phoenix mountain bikers want to get a ride in tomorrow afternoon/evening? I've had my share of solo rides recently. Time to party.

@TailHook can tell you that that's me on my hardtail on singletrack here in AZ. I'm sticking to hiking and leaving the riding for pavement.

Go full squish and send it down national. upload_2021-2-25_19-19-19.jpg
(Not my picture) this feature is not the kind I'm comfortable doing for the first time on my own(about 5-6 miles from the truck and at least 2.5 from closest trailhead). And when I do group ride with my friends I'm the most technical rider of all of us so no one to tow me in. This is the second half of the feature. I've cleared the first half but it wasn't pretty.

I think my dad would disown me if I went full squish.

He's put thousands upon thousands of miles on his Ritchey Super Comp (pic is a similar bike, but just nabbed off the internet) that he's had and shredded on since before I was born. He should probably retire it since it's pretty much a collectors item at this point but he still does things that would make your eyeballs pop out. Though he's slowed down a bit since he's 60+ now.

I've just come to the realization that a gravel bike is pretty much what I wanna do. I'd probably give mountain biking more of a shot if I lived within a stones throw of some trails along the likes of the PNW Terrain or similar. Not gonna drive up to Flagstaff every time I wanna ride.

That's pretty sick. Prescott has some amazing flow trails too. But I understand the dislike of jankiness.

Okay well I might be down tomorrow then as well. laugh out loud. I just tried the Apache trail over by Idaho last week. Pretty sketchy and I only did two miles and turned around, as it was getting dark.

So I have to go get a kidney biopsy done Monday. Nervous about it, looks remarkably not-fun, but I'm actually probably more worried about the associated stuff like sedatives and IVs.

Then I get a call today and they are informing me how much it's gonna cost me :spending: holy SHIT! :bananadead::bananadead::bananadead:

Me on the Waterfall many years ago when I was skinnier!

Despite what the upload date says, this was ~2006 based on the bike I’m riding.

Still riding like that today, although I don’t make it over to Somo very much anymore.

I’d be up for a ride with the group sometime! Anyone in the north valley / Cave Creek area hit me up!

Thanks, I have been doing better and I'm now off the crazy "pee all the time" diuretic pills. Since I haven't turned back into a balloon that means the kidneys are doing better. Better is good, no change or worse is what most people face so I'm blessed tenfold more than I realized.

And yeah I can't enjoy my theoretical T4R if I'm not better. It just kinda feels like kicking someone when they are down. :crapstorm: I guess I could find a silver lining, it burned my entire deductible for the year so I can send it and get the rest of my bills 90% covered!

Yeah don't get me started. First kidney doc sucked the big one. Did a terrible job of explaining what was going on, told me conflicting things, gave me wrong prescriptions and wrong prescription instructions, constantly forgot to share notes with my primary doc, and was generally had a crappy bedside manner on top of that! Sooooo He's :censored: out!
Turns out basically the deal is, there's no way to see what's going on inside the kidneys unless you actually go in there and take a sample out.
Have yet to meet with the new doc but he's closer, and going to get the advantage of seeing a lot more test results on day 1 to chart my progress.
