definitely amazing. We were pretty defeated last night.. he must have been circling back to that campsite every now and then himself.. because my Buddy had hiked around multiple times in the same area calling for him.. he just decided he finally had enough that night I guess. lol

Can it get a flagstaff road update?

Going to head up the hill tomorrow. Just want to know what to expect.

So far the winter weather advisory has been unwarranted. Couple inches in town. Seems like it might be picking up again now though. Roads are pretty slick. I imagine as usual I-17 will be totally clear until you hit Stoneman Lake Rd or the top of the hill just past. Early AM will be slippery, its been freeze/thaw/freeze over the last couple days.

    appreciate the update!

I’d head up in the afternoon and still expect the shadows will harbor some ice. Same with brigades.

taking the snow chains and recovery strap. Worst case I don’t need it. Best case I make $50 yanking some little car out of the snow. Used to run a pretty solid side hustle back in college yanking folks off the side of the 17 :D

Lol, it’s from mad tv from way back when. People would ask questions or something would happen to where she needed to describe someone or something, and it always circled back to “he look like a man”

Drive Safe, consider putting some weight in the bed. A couple 50 lb bags of gravel help put weight on the rear / drive axel and can turn into traction as well.

After noon should be safe enough

im not a big fan of gov websites but ADOT has a decent one for travel hazards az511.gov

sage advice. I’ve got the truck loaded up. Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

My old reliable orange cojack light seemed to have flashed its last lumen. Got a set of those hockey puck magnetic strobe lights. They sure seem bright enough, won’t extinguish like a traditional road flare. I can see these being a long term cast member if it all works out.

hope my old sledding spot isn’t too popular. I saw they now rent tubes and have fees to use the sledding areas.

    neat but not my jam.

you guys ever do a snowbowl trip? After hearing about the skier lost in the CA slopes it just makes more sense to go with a group. Safety in numbers.

If so I’d like to meet up and just do some chill riding. Nothing too XTREME
