Here are some pics from my house. Winds have died down but that means the fire is creeping back towards where it started, which means its headed towards my neighborhood. I drove up today with a friend and got the Blazer and Tacoma moved to safer locations as well as got sentimental shit and expensive bikes out of the house then headed back down to Phoenix. Now we cross our fingers. This sucks.

By far not defending him in any means as I’m technically evacuated because of this fire. But apparently this is common practice in the north east vs digging a hole to shit in. Learned that this evening. Still 200% unacceptable. Praying for calming winds allowing better fire fighting capabilities tomorrow.

I’m from the NE and I have never heard of lighting used toilet paper on fire. It goes in the cat hole with the excrement, or gets bagged and tossed in the garbage when able. He’s from Louisiana, so maybe a SE thing?!

    Jesus.

Seems like we can't go a single year without a massive fire taking place in/around Flagstaff.

Sedona isn't on fire yet, so the lady and I took advantage of a final 'cool' weekend two weekends ago to explore a 6 rappel canyon called Deadman's Descent.

[IMG]Deadman’s Descent by Michael Rickerd, on Flickr

Final 3 rappels total over 500 feet.

The 'v' in the rock left of center is the start of a 180 ft rappel. Massive exposure, anchor right at the edge. Follow that black line to the bottom and that was the exit. Final rappel was a solid 150 ft, partial free hang too.

    Stressful, but fun.

Ok guys in Flag what’s the latest! God I hope no one loses their home‼️
I feel bad for you all plus we are losing some awesome land and trails. Back in the day I had racing buddies that worked for Gore they would lead us on some awesome rides. We would ride for hours and hours. I remember one ride to the tall ass snow poll on the backside of the mountains. We then get cleaned up, go out for burgers, order a beer and get shit faced on just one because we were so depleted.

Im down in Phoenix but was watching video all day. They were able to fly because the winds were down. Fire seems to be growing northeast and the Schultz area seems to be smoldering. Looks hazy in town this morning.

Also some of the evacuation orders have eased up which is a good sign.
