I just took mine apart for the revalve and it’s nice to have a reasonable priced shock that is rebuildable. Be cool if there was some adjustment but for the price, they are awesome. I even have a 3rd one for spare parts that I somehow received by mistake when I ordered mine off Amazon. My SOA setup can’t use all 14” of the shock but it’s nice to know it’s never going to bottom out or top out on me.

Gotta love when they quote a job that's the same size as your machines travel...

Machine travel is 64x32. Have 3 parts in this assembly with this same profile size. With customer supplied, not cheap material, and just enough for the 1 piece each they want. Mix of precision ground 6061 plate and this acrylic plate.. which this was also my first time programming and machining acrylic. The waterjet couldn't even rough the holes.. just kept shattering it. 42 thru holes, a steel Keensert held to Military standards and some other goodies.

Oh, and this is also my first project and week at work since our lead Engineer/Programmer left. I'm the guy now that has to do the engineering work, help with quoting, getting guys set up on the floor, etc.. while continuing to do my normal programming and machining... Sitting here waiting for my fat ass raise. It'll allll be worth it.

    "Military standards"
After being in the Marine Corps for 8 years. I laugh at Military standards. The only ones that were worth half a shit was the Rolls Royce stuff, Boeing was close.

I thought the same thing.. who tf comes up with these "nominal" hole sizes for this insert and says that's the standard.. Oh ok.. you want me to hold a diameter and countersink to within a .001" for a mass produced insert that showed up looking like a kid filed the threads by hand... I had to clean up the insert before I could even thread it in.. and it's for what.. an in house prototype. Military has no idea how tight or not tight a tolerance needs to be. Just because they can slap a number on it doesn't mean jack. Lol

and this is for a large known aerospace company...

I worked on Harriers, AV8B's for year. They have the Rolls Royce Pegasus engine. Interesting. Learned a lot. Probably the coolest thing was getting parts in NASA packaging; for the butterfly valve.
With that engine there's two main engines, the 406 and 408 series. Different parts on a lot of things. Close, but not quite. My wife still wears a titanium alloy washer someone ordered for a 406 when all we had were 408s. I had it in my pocket and she thought I was gonna surprise her with a random ring. I was like, nah its just a probably 8k washer someone ordered by accident that we cant do anything with. /shrug

I may or may not have random things like that from doing avionics on 14s and 18s over 12 years :anonymous:

Reminds me that we did have someone try to steal missile pylons and engine nacelles...like WTF are you gonna do with those? o_O

This is probably the coolest "souvenir" I have from my last cruise, though...

I had some bone spurs taken out in the joint, A bunch of cartilage removed and my tendons re attached on the right side of my ankle. Apparently a old injury I never took care of. So I had a tendency of rolling my ankle very frequently. If not sprain it allot. Dr said I would be on a cane in 5 to 10 years if I didnt take care of it. So here we are. 2 more weeks 2 more weeks.
 I fucking wish. Atleast the singles I would have been making on the pole would have covered the surgery.
