I’m sure duro bumps provide near identical performance. I’ve never personally used duro bumps but I’m sure both are equally great options for any user

They are local, and I have them. They seem to be pretty much the same thing but didn't know if you guys had something that made you go with the wheelers instead

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
Got durobumps through @state48overland - no complaints whatsoever here. Tagging in case they know and can articulate any key differences outside of the manufacturer, but as mentioned, assuming they're relatively identical.

I have the Duro bumps. I like them allot. Need to get a set for the runner. Plus Curtis is here local in phx and is a great dude to deal with. I think he even gives a tw discount.

Because I got them before durobumps were a thing lol. Both are good options as well as timbrens. Hydro bumps are overkill and not a good option in my opinion unless you are bumping them off the spindle

Found a discarded homemade bed rack for a 2nd gen short bed in the desert by my house. I cut the runners that linked the hoops (no pics before hand sorry) gonna chop two hoops down 6” for the wedge tent I’m going to build. Thinking about keeping one hoop cab height and making it a “sport bar” for a light bar.

Good deal. Looks solid so far.

Ive had my eye out for a beat up camper that I can rebuild and make my own, kinda similar to what you are doing.

Best part about it is it hasn’t cost me a dime so far lmao.

I’ve looked into building a camper similar to those aluminum habitat things with out the wedge on top. Decided it was too much work and more money than I wanted to spend lol

Thanks for the tag. Biggest difference in speaking with Curtis from DB-his product has something like a 3 level multi durometer design. So it’s a progressive compression feel Vs foam cell style which is plush but doesn’t have any multi rate effect. I’ve ran superbumps. I’m on a +2 LT. Curtis designed a more aggressive durometer blend (preferred for LT set ups imo) front bumps for LT set ups which I run now - very pleased. I have ran the DBs on my FJ for a few years now. They have held up very well and show no signs of premature wear or failure. My Tacoma superbumps when I was mid travel did wear down more quickly just in general and specifically at an angle on the initial contact edge with the lca- likely because of the material difference.

I know you most likely aren't done with this rack yet, but it needs a lot more going on within itself before it's ready to hold a wedge tent and travel down a bumpy dirt road, or any road for that matter.

Very unlikely. You might be able to find patches here or there but that may even be tough. Forest Lakes has a webcam you can look at to give you an idea.

Yeah it snowed last night but not much. We have just patches here and there. Should be melted of by this afternoon. There is nothing on the roads.

The peaks still have snow on them, and you might find some snow in the shade, but it is all burning off elsewhere
