If you’re looking for an 85’ project truck I may be getting rid of one soon.

Anyone know a repair shop? Maybe one that’ll help me get a bumper :D549E5B45-B077-4565-B113-F01763C75DF1.jpg 7B90887D-DCE2-48DF-BB73-339AE8306776.jpg

That sucks man. I don't know where you are located in the valley, but Otto Works in Apache Junction fixed my truck up great after what seems to be very similar damage (check my build thread for pics). They specialize in trucks and 4WD vehicle, Brian and Krissy do good work.

Tell them "Tim with the 2015 Tacoma" sent you. I must have called 50 times bugging them, and I always started the conversation that way lol.

Countdown to KOH. Luckily the chase truck has a relatively clean bill of health. Gonna replace a few heims and bolts and rack bushings and she’ll be good to go.

I bought a 84' cab and frame the other day to start a build. No idea what direction I am going to go with it but thanks! Still post up some pics and details. There may be someone else on here looking.

Nice, that should be fun. I picked up my 85’ from a family member a couple years ago and got a little carried away with my plans and collecting parts, then ran out of any time to work on it. My plan was e-lockers front and rear, recentered H1 wheels, hi-steer, hydro assist, and a lot more. I was looking to build a nice hunting rig for those really cold days it’s painful to take a side by side out, then got carried away. I have an OM617 I was going to swap into it as well, but remodeling a house and a toddler took all of my time. The other problem is that I have to store it at my parents because I don’t have room for it, and that is 45min away, so not convenient to work on. I’m still on the fence of getting rid of it, I really want to build it, but at the same time, I would be nice to rid myself of the lingering need to get it finished.

Oh nice! Yeah that would be nice on the cold trips. And I get the whole drive thing to go work on it. If I cant have it in my shop its really not going to get worked on. Makes it easy to go down for a hour and knock off one thing on a punch list rather than drive a hour and a half round trip to wire up brake lights or whatever. If you get rid of it you will regret it but if you hold onto it and never work on it then it will always bother you. Catch 22....
Oh I thought I told you. Blaines buddy Skylar has 3 and needs the motor out of this one for his rock crawler. So sold me the body and frame for 300 bucks. Blaine gave me the motor he just pulled out of his boys truck. So its getting a v8 dropped into it. Then Blaine just picked up a 86' and has a 4BT that he is dropping in that after he does the solid axle and bed.

Where is a good place to take my mom's Tacoma in for valve cover gasket replacement? Or is it an easy fix? I haven't looked it up yet. Has lunch with her yesterday and noticed she needs new ones as well as the oil pan gasket.

2nd gen right? I havent done one on a second gen but for the most part the valve cover gasket is a easy job. A couple hours.
Remove air box. Upper and lower plenums. a few hoses here and there. Remove spark plug wires. Take off valve covers and replace the gaskets then put everything back together.

Yeah I figured I'll be the one doing the work. I just don't want to. Too many things that need my TLC right now.

I know how that goes. If I was closer I would hammer it out for you. @Maxx is always looking for side work and could handle it.
