Better at the tender age of 18 on a bike than a $30k car. Of course to him this is like a $30k car and he kinda lost his mind for a second.. Poor guy. :annoyed:

Man, you joke but even when installing a filter hand tight on my second gen (and putting a film of oil on the rubber ring on it) I would still need a wrench to get the damn thing off.

Maybe I’ve just got weak hands.

The composite vs aluminum is 6 of one, half dozen of the other, really.

Composite pro is that max ugga dugga breaks the housing and not the threads on the oil filter fitting.

With aluminum that max ugga dugga galls the threads on the oil filter housing itself and now you have to replace this lad:
    19481_1567131040 15671-31040 MaxParts_2.jpg

Hint: you do not want to do this. Almost 99% sure it requires the entire engine coming out.

My vote is composite but it ain't worth losing too much sleep over. I just tell people not to spend extra $$$ converting to aluminum if they think it's some legendary upgrade.:notsure:

Then I hope he took it as a learning experience to grow up to make lots of money so he can afford mechanics unlike us poor folk. And to stay away from modding vehicles.

The only mess is when you forget to take the plastic water bottle out from under the filter drip edge:facepalm:
Or with the flumoto and the wind is blowing slightly... Almost every time I change the oil it gusts and sprinkles all around the catch can..:annoyed:

Anyone got a trail file to share around the flag area, neighbor is moving away in two weeks and wants to get out for one last trail run this weekend. We thought about BDR from Winona north or south, but not set in stone, definitely want to stay up in elevation so nothing down south.

Edit to add: day trip run not a shorty

Id go out to the top of the world overlooking oak creek canyon, or the back way into one of the lakes now that they are full

ETA: If you are looking for a kmz file CNF has a new loop that they put together.

I just checked out that route.

Be careful on the southeastern part. It gets rocky and heinous.

I destroyed my OEM predator steps way back in the day. 4Lo and about 3 hours to go just a few miles. Guys out hunting in UTV's were surprised to see me.

100% OEM in these photos. Not impossible, just not quick/easy.
