Does this get me into some rarified fan club of "before Tacoma" BD lighting? Been drinking the koolaid for some time!

Saving the box for some hoarder reason, awesome lights, even way back when! Ok, yeah I'm old, the chrome in the beard shows that...

I say one weekend, we all go on a trip to Lake Pleasant, do some campin and wheelin? IMO that would be killer, and ofc someone (not me) would need to bring some brews.

On another note, does anyone know where to get an old skool igloo cooler, like the red and white one with the sliding top? My grandpa had one, and now I need one lol

EDIT: Nvm, I found an officially licensed Igloo x Pizza Planet one :spending:

Any active FD guys on here and/or people who have seen, used, or heard about those "road flare" style extinguishers?

For those unfamiliar it's sold by a company called "Element" and the whole idea is it uses a chemical reaction that doesn't require a pressurized tank, so the shelf life and storage thereof is literally "throw it in a bag wherever it fits."

I see widely varying accounts from "amazing" to "better than nothing" to "worse than nothing"

It seems like what happens is a lot of people strike it, see that it's barely starting to spit out the extinguishing component, and then before it turns into a stronger fountain they stick it too close to the fire. Once that thing starts going it starts moving a lot of air and they end up fanning the flame while only extinguishing a thin sliver of it, then saying it's useless. Or using it to extinguish a pan of lighter fluid that you could just as easily have stamped out.

I have one on the way, I'm wondering if I should just return it, or toss it in the roadside kit regardless.

Pretty cost prohibitive to buy one or two and train with it unfortunately.
I've got too much experience using traditional extinguishers to feel comfortable with a totally different system.

Well that's finally done ehh Rob? I completely forgot that we had this conversation way back then. Not until Q, @prise and I started on the rack Saturday I started to remember, then showed him these old posts to admit to him it was all my fault we had to fight the bushings and install Poly.. lol 2wd is much easier though that's for sure.

Mondays after taking a few days are a special kind of suck. Also I'm not sure if it is skunk season but all of flag smells like a skunk this morning. My house on the east side, shop at work, and the west side over off woodlands skunky funky.

yeah just no diff in the way. easier to come out and go in for sure. The Poly bushings are the pita just because you have to cut and press out the old ones.

Over by my house, all we can smell is fire. There's no smoke, just the smell of it. Quite odd...
