If you’re all stock, then this all sounds pretty normal. What octane fuel do you use and do you have any mods? Tires?

 

Alright, I'm done for this weekend. I'm not spending any more effort on the insides save for any weight goo residue and that's about as good as they're gonna get anyways.


@prise do you know how many miles were on these wheels roughly? I don't think those tires are the first set these have been thru...

 

Yeah without being rude for all the great things about these trucks mpg is not one of them

eta also my perspective is coming from a heep that got about 8mpg so maybe I’m not the person to talk

 

Adam's Tire and Rubber cleaner will take the browning out of those tires.

 

I'm not sure any dealer is gonna give you the time of day about MPG like that, they're just gonna assume you drive with a lead foot, scan for codes, and send you on your way.

I will say though, that it seems like there's a gremlin in the fuel tuning on modern Toyota trucks. Like there's times when my 4runner will hit 20+ without breaking a sweat, and other times I will literally be driving like grandma trying to hyper mile and won't be able to get it past 18-19. Temperature, A/C, wind direction, cant seem to explain it so I'm gaslighting myself into believing theres some kind of bug in there somewhere that makes it chug fuel...

But probably not the screws and the 1/32 of tread.
They're just HTs that prise left on there for me and I'm using them because it makes them more convenient to roll, for the time being.

The fuel milage estimate on the dash is equivalent to the other 'idiot lights' on modern dash displays. The only way to get accurate info is to hand calculate.

 

Of course Dave has a spreadsheet...

 

Agreed, this is just a guesstimation and nothing to get worked up about. That would be like taking it in because the miles to empty reads 0 but you were still able to make it to a gas station.

 

Not a clue, I put about 30k on them with those tires and they both were on it when I bought it. Those wheels never came on the GX470 so they got swapped on at some point so no way to know how many miles.

Anyone have experience with COOPERDISCOVERER ROAD + TRAIL AT ?

I need two new tires. i currently have the cooper destination at3 4s.

 

I get 9mpg. I’d say 15-16mpg would be good enough for my wallet.

Well your frame will be thanking you that you moved her to the desert. What part of the valley you end up in? and you have plenty of time to get the ball joints and skids. Lots of shops and stores in the valley. Get it done!
