Sweet! What days/times are you typically available? I can basically be available any time. Ive got a Lincoln 215mpi. I run a mig gun with 75/25 for mild steel and Ive also got a spool gun and 100% argon for aluminum. 99% of what I do is mig steel though.

Yeah you should be golden with that machine, a spool gun is tricky but the mig should lay out good, im free whenever i could head over tomorrow morning after traffic dies down

Any auto scrap yard in the valley should take them. You'll probably have to get a photocopy of your ID and sign a paper that says "yes these are not from street cars that suddenly sound a lot louder in AJ"

The sketch ones won't ask questions.

Good to know! I figure laws are different here. I had a guy who bought bad catalytic converters from the dealerships back in the day. You look it up here and it says Arizona banned that in 2022 lol

I was about to ask the same question. A couple other things I was wondering was what size wire are you using, what's your gas flow rate, are you cleaning the steel before welding, what're your settings, what's the thickness of steel you're typically welding, etc. I'd be curious to see a picture, too. No need to answer, if you can get Milota to come in person, that's even better.

@Milota95 Showed up this morning and helped a ton. Technique was definitely the issue. Im already making much better welds and have a better understanding of what I should be doing. It helps so much to have a good welder show you how to do it and explain themselves. Then let you do it and explain what you're doing right/wrong. Watching youtube videos is just not enough. I think I made quite good progress already. Just have tons more practice to do.

The pic on the left is an example of what I would call some of my best welds prior to Quintin coming by today and then on the right is an after. The weld on the right is a single pass from left to right just practicing on scrap. You can see how I was able to get control of the puddle and by the end of the weld at the far right I was just about perfect with the size of the puddle and each step has a very consistent size. Now that I know what to do and look for Im able to correct myself mid weld. Just need practice. Thanks a bunch Quintin!!
