4 posts on reddit doesn't guarantee there is still a model-wide problem, as 4/130,000 is a completely insignificant figure.

Everyone knows about the early Tundra issues, so anyone that has any issues with a new one will be loud and complain about it, much more so than if it were any other random car. So I have no idea how to weight the validity of a few posts to the real reliability of the new models.

I saw somewhere the main bearing part number was updated in early '24, so early '24 models were still built with the old bearing while late '24 and '25s are on the updated one. Maybe thats enough to fix the problem?

Either way, I don't want to rain on your parade. I'd feel fairly safe knowing Toyota is going to have everyone's backs on this. Might just be a bit of a pita if it happens to you, but I'm sure they'll be there to fix it all under warranty and cover a rental.

Right Toyota was discounting those quite a bit too. The seats were extremely hard and uncomfortable for me. A bit like sitting on a concrete curb.

I like my 5.7. But I was debating cruising over and trading in. But then thought about it like an adult and decided not to since my tundra is my work commute truck and throw 30k miles on it a year.

Oh, hey, look what I found in storage. :santa: Now I just need a BF sale on uca's, tires and some longer wheel studs.

Question is, do I run the electric teal T8's or the stealth indigo BR6's? :notsure:

Did you give up on the idea in general, or did you replace the older one with a mini2? Just curious ... I still want to use the mini2 for my ventures off concrete or when hiking away from the crowds.

The new apple satellite feature honestly seems like it does what i need. The Garmin is nice but they just reworked the plans and I just didn't want to pay the sub for as few trips as I get out solo these days.

I still run iPhone SE (non-satellite) because it is paid off. I saw the email about the new plans, but "automatic switch" is a few months away (anniversary of the inception). I need to verify the new terms ...

Unrelated to the Garmin deal of the century, I had one of those iPhone SE's before my 12 mini. I swear the camera quality was better on the SE.

The SE seems to last forever. It’s the Nokia of iPhones

The only reason for me to change phones is to get the camera of a 16 (not the pro). Hiking on the trail I have been disappointed with the long-range zoom of the SE (well, what should I expect?) and do not want to buy/carry a dedicated camera.

Still have an OG SE running Prime music on a speaker in the kitchen. It'll be there until Amazon drops support for iOS 15

I have a 2nd version of SE, no change intended until iOS not supported or I really need better harware. Good news is that while the rest of the family (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, ...) marches on becoming more expense the SE stays basically the same price with just faster CPU (they will never upgrade the camera, I think) every couple of years. Too many "old hippies" like us to not keep selling that market segment. :drunk:

    Can confirm...
The Sat Feature on the iPhone (14 Pro Max from a few years ago here) is a solid tool.

Alternatively I run some ham equipment (all terrestrial based) that lets me text the wife (she can text back w/o license) and it is just about as easy as running the sat feature on the iPhone. Total cost of the EQ is still less than half of an iPhone and there is no subscription plan.

I'm considering paying apple $99 to replace my battery. It doesn't need it really but I find that I can get 5 to 6 years out of a phone with a mid-life battery update. I either give them $1,000 every 2 years (f**k I hate saying that), or I give them $1099 every 5 years. I find that after 5 or 6 years the amount of tech and features that have changed make it worth the upgrade.

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
Don't get me wrong, anyone 6'+ looks like a fat-guy-in-a-little-coat in a Mini, but those Supercharged manuals are fun.

Once they figured out the “manufacturing debris” issue they were supposedly good to go. Engines were still experiencing failures after that. Toyota changed out part’s, I believe on the #1 and #4 bearing in April. Word is anything after that “should” be good to go. Lots of information to sift through on Tundras.com. The Car Care Nut on YouTube has a good video out on it as well.

I was a couple thousand dollars under invoice on a 24 limited with the TRD Off Road package and factory TRD suspension lift, but I still couldn’t pull the trigger knowing there could be a possible issue.

After months of research across the valley Toyota of Surprise couldn’t be beat on price of the truck and trade in allowance. When I traded my Tacoma in for the 4Runner in April they gave me more than what I paid for the Tacoma after 2 years.
