You'd think with 7" travel front and 6" travel rear.... this thing would ride like a cloud.... well, it does. But a cloud with a fuggin tee ball bat coming out the top

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
    I lol'd.

I used to ride a bike around Atlanta, since it was easier to get around after a few whiskies without any trouble. I spent most of my time basically standing on the pedals, not putting much weight in a seat, vs just leaning against it almost. More girth just meant more friction - no thank you.

Found an old photo of the '83 univega. Don't mind the quality, I took it with a 2010 banana.

Scored these seats from a coworker who turned into our realtor for one of the games the Cleveland INDIANS came to town and smoked the d-backs. My heart still hasn't healed from '95, '97, and '16. No one chokes as hard as Cleveland sports teams.

You gotta ride regularly, 2-3 times a week for your taint to get used to any saddle. If you so much as take a week off, youre gonna feel it the next time you hop on. That being said, if you arent already you have to ride with padded shorts. That doesnt have to mean spandex, it can be baggies with a built in chamois. Makes a huge difference. If you are dead set on a different saddle, WTB makes a bunch of nice ones. Ive been running the Silverado on a few of my bikes and really like it. If you stick with chromo rails they arent too expensive. https://www.wtb.com/collections/mountain-bike-saddles/products/silverado

Smaller and firmer seats can be better than big wide cushy. Sounds odd but it is true.

Get a "dropper post" that install in the "seat tube" (vertical frame part) and has a lever on the handlebars to allow it to raise or lower your seat like a hydraulic office chair. Low if you want a lower center of gravity, higher if you want bent over fast pedaling. About $250 online. Bike stores can install but expect price to be $350 then. Depending on the frame the cables that control the dropper-post will be "internal" (if the seat post has the guides) or "external" on the outside of the seat post (most bikes need this if you did not pay $5000).

I'm good right up to 110°.
    I'll "take" up to 115°
After that it's hot. Damn hot. Real hot.

Anything north of 120° that we get every few years makes you want to go slap your mama just for having you.

Does anyone have the "sign lettering" templates they can lend or do some very light work?

I want to to put 2 2.5-ish in letters into my cutting board, C and S. But the cheapy letter templates ($12/set) are blocky letters that bother me as being too much a compromise given the rest of the effort. Rockler sells a set of templates in a more curvy pattern (like the standard font of a computer) called "State Park" but it costs $70. I am not cheap or broke, but I do not not make many signs and would rather put money into router bits and bloodwoiod than ununsed sign-letter templates.

Figured it out in a mad-scientist way ...

Went to HomeDepot, bought a sign that I think describes my twisted mind. Routed out the E as a test, then C and S. After testing a couple of times I took the plunge. I think my brother (C) and sister-in-law (S) might be impressed by the letters filled in with epoxy resin. I do not care how rough it looks ... I like the "less than perfect".

Finally went out this weekend and zeroed my Sig Cross with its new (to it) can and optic, managed to get sub MOA, which honestly isn't that bad considering the barrel is kind of a mid-weight profile. It was definitely stringing on me vertically once I had that barrel and can cooking though. I was kind of rocking and rolling abusing the steel at 300 yards.
    20250412_152729.jpg20250412_141613.jpg

Then also took the KAC 14.5" AR out with the little chode MCQ-PRT can as well. That thing is weird, but cool. Definitely not for everyone especially considering the cost, but it's funky in that it does not feel like shooting a suppressed AR at all, in both a good way and a bad way.
It does not add hardly any length or weight- with the 14.5" I'm barely any longer than a standard 16" upper. Gassing is not an issue, it runs like a sewing machine dropping brass at 3-4 o'clock, maybe a hair forward with 5.56. No gas face whatsoever, basically none of the traditional "can" problems.
On the flip side it doesn't really sound suppressed, but at the same time it doesn't have the same snappy boom your average AR has. Hard to describe, like taking an AR and just turning down the volume a few clicks, without adding the distinctive "sssst" of a normal can and the fart cloud around the port.

Also genuinely impressed with the group it randomly printed during zeroing with just basic bitch bulk 55 grain at 100 yards:
    20250412_152735.jpg
(Don't worry, it got way worse than this too.;))
