Wanted to introduce myself! I'm Josh and I live in Scottsdale. I got a 2016 Tacoma Sport MT and I decided to break it in at broken arrow. Took my girlfriend with me and I swear there's claw marks on the door handle from her gripping for dear life. I went stock and I didn't have any problems with it to be honest. Drove like a dream!

I'm thinking of a 3 inch lift on it and some 33's. Opinions? Any suggestions for where I can go in the valley?

Opinions for lift and tires? Haha you came to the right place. How much do you have to spend? What kind of off roading do you want to do?

Oh yeah and welcome to AZTW.

Well I don't know how much a suspension lift costs. I want to do intermediate kind of stuff now and maybe down the line I'll do some harder stuff. But no idea yet. I hunt a lot and I like going in the back woods type off-roading. I don't really care for rock crawling. For some reason my dad has raised me with the belief that lifting a truck past a certain point takes away from the trucks capabilities so I don't know if that factual or not

This. Great starter lifts. A lot of us have had OME and are fans. As far as tires go, look at Toyo or Cooper.

Here is an OME kit from Headstrong Offroad. A lot of people on the site have had good dealings with this vendor.

Oh yeah take some time to read through some of the builds of peoples trucks. This will give you a good idea of what has been done and what you might want to do to your truck.

Stuff and things to make glamorous camping faster and more enjoyable.
As others had said about Toytec and OME is true.

As for what your dad says about lift height. That is totally true. Basically the only reason to lift a truck is to clear bigger tires. If you can get bigger tires without lifting too much, you can keep the center of gravity down and have better off-camber performance. For us (we have a Tundra) we only lifted 2" and run 37" tires. It involved a fair bit of metal cutting, but kept us low with big tires.

Toyos become great after a certain size in AT. Otherwise RTs and MTs sell themselves.

Ive probably whored Toyo enough around here.

Welcome Josh!! The lift all depends on what you plan on doing with the truck and how much you want to, or are comfortable spending. Many of us on here, myself included would be happy to help you out with the install to save you a few pennies. I live in Scottsdale as well and will be installing my lift on my new Tacoma this weekend. Feel free to swing on my. Will be working on another members truck after I'm done with mine.

Oh and another thing that you will want to look at getting if you will be doing some off roading. Rock sliders. And in the Phoenix metro area go to Avid Offroad to get those.

Body lift, doesn't change the quality of your ride and/or run a double chassis turns your 4x4 into an 8x8. Srs.

The Kings and Toyos are awesome so far. I think that I will to do more trimming and beating with a BFH after this weekend. I am sure I will find some more that the tires will be rubbing.
