It's kinda surprising what some counter weight will do on a fork lift. I've been on the back of lift 3 times that size and it's been enough to keep the load in the air. I'm 165 lbs and the load was 9.5k lbs. Not safe by any means and OSHA would have a hand cramp by the time they got done writing us fines if they saw it but desperate times and lack of equipment lead to an "any means necessary" moment. Trying to stop something with forward momentum and already going into the air like that is just dumb.

Dumbass people. Doing shady ass shit. Never ever ever ever ever care for the equipment or hardware. Let that shit fall and break. Never worth it.

Had someone at Wallops Flight Facility try to save an equipment rack from tipping over and broke his wrist and arms from it. Never worth it. Let it fall and break. Who the fcuk cares about it. it's replaceable. That is truely sad.

Spent three years as a lift truck operator. I've done so much stupid shit I probably shouldn't be able to write this post.

Flip side of that is I could also pickup a quarter off the flat concrete with a lift.

Bummer about that video - instinct kicks in for people and the brain doesn't have time to catch up.
