Like some posted, youtube is a great start. There are 50k websites to help out. Also TW has a BBQ Smoker thread... I know, its hard to believe that there is a thread for everything. "There's a thread for that."

Just Do it! Get some chickens from the store and start with beer can chicken, it's almost impossible to screw up and is really yummy. Then I think bacon wrapped pork loin is the next step. From there you will have some confidence and will start experimenting with other things.

What type of smoker do you have?

@phx13 i have 14 holes in my roof now... it's only the first one that hurts. I'd have less if I quit trying to drive into the garage with the fkn ham radio antenna still up

So my phone decided to not charge last night and die sometime between 12 and 6am so my 2 set alarms didn't go off.

Late to my first class and forgot my 15 page handwritten hw to second class.. of course I forgot my wallet and didn't have my ID to get into my third class.

I'm going back to sleep before anything else goes wrong :bananadead::boom:

I like the logic here. Though if I forget I put a tire carrier on, I'm liable to need a new oven in the kitchen after I back through the wall. :bananadead:

In retrospect I'd do the sheet metal, or would use a shim of 1" angle iron on either side of the cross member, held on with carriage bolts. Would make it easier to reposition later.

    Not a huge deal though.

speaking of which, I'm installing my roof rack this weekend. if my truck gets stuck in the work garage, i'll be calling you to help me get it out :anonymous:
i'll screw around with it this weekend. I won't have them up there full time, so I want something easily removable. so I'm leaning towards the sheet metal idea
