2nd and 2.5 gen only for you. I bet you can get the 3rd gen to fit with a modified bracket. But I am not totally sure. Can always go after market if you want to spend the money.

Feel free to PM over spots that are recommended out here. Gotta get the new PA-15 zeroed, myself.

    I'll PM
But honestly any public land that has a good back stop is probably a good bet.
This spot wasn't very good for precision, but I confirmed the cross country drive didn't rattle things off 'minute of torso' at 100ish.

Spots that don't really need a PM cause they're well known/busy

There are a bunch of spots off of 4 peaks road long enough to zero out to at least 50 yards. Same for the other(sycamore) side of the highway

If you're in the NE valley there's a bunch off seven springs road.

Phoenix rod and gun club also has inexpensive public times you can go on the weekend to throw a quick zero and go. Been a while since I actually paid to go there but IIRC it is cash only but like $10 or $20 to use the public range which is rifle or pistol with target stands avail from 10-100 yards

yes, definitely a few busier areas that I'm familiar with. I suppose I was in hopes that a few of you had some favorites that a non-native wouldn't be aware of to avoid some of the riff raff, but also am understanding that most of the plinking areas aren't exactly quiet enough to be covert lol

Appreciate all the info, from both of you though!

Sorry, Since I'm a member at Cowtown I generally go out there to shoot esp long range so I don't have a ton of public land spots

when I do take friends out and don't want to have them pay for range time I usually hit up seven springs area since it's reasonably close to me and just a cool area I like to go to. There's a bunch of different spots off the main road so just grab whatever is open and outside the no shooting areas

No need to apologize amigo! I asked a vague question and got what I asked for lol

Thanks again for the suggestions though. Need an excuse to spew a few pews and throw approximately 2 quarters down range for each pull. :spending:

lol you’re right. It could be. Snagged a decent deal on some green tips in case the winter weather turns for the worst, but usually just get plinking rounds from Scorpion ammo to support local.

looking forward to making this budget build eat, though. Just another project to build a wish list on lol

I’m nearby, but at work and without gear. I could give you a good yank and do more damage, but that’s about it.

    Sorry brother.

Its alright, managed to make the factory jack work.

The truck is lowered so it was more complicated than it needed to be.

I'm a member at cowtown too but stupid me, I just haven't reserved a slot and gone back up there after the safety brief. One of those things where I have friends who wanna go too but organizing them is a pain in the ass. Need to just wrangle one of them and be like "hey you're my spotter."

You have any particular platform preference for the long range? I was thinking Alpha would be the nicest but since you've been there before I'd like to hear your opinion.

Alpha is good if going with 3-4+ shooters as it's the biggest platform. Longest target from Alpha 1077 yards. Shortest is like 200.
Alpha is good if you want to do a lot of 500-1000 yard shooting. Many of the targets for bravo/Charlie will be oblique to the Alpha platform.

Bravo/Charlie. These are the main two used for competition prs etc so they usually book first for those guys getting their practice in. A lot of mid range targets here 300-600 yards that are square to the platform. The longest target is prob still close to 1k

Delta smallest platform 2 is ideal 3 shooters gets crowded. Biggest perk to delta is there is one target out at 1380 from this platform that is only visible from this platform.
