Thank you for you words man, they really help. I had a taste of the manufacturing world with my last job that dealt with fixing and operating 3D printers and I loved it but unfortunately the company laid 99% of employees on the spot. I was able to get another job at an IT help desk fairly quickly but I'm back to the cubicle life. I'm grateful I have this job but man does it feel like I'm my burning life hours here.

Sad to say as more companies invest in automation the less they need personnel. I think what has kept me out of production stuff is for the most part you are a baby sitter for the machine and on scene qc. Not a bad gig, but obviously you don’t that many people to manage that.

After watching the JRE with Andrew Yang and listening to others speak about automation, the workforce is going to get very interesting during this decade.

I’m guessing that won’t be a good thing. I think as long as you are constantly designing new items then there is a job for it, but the second it doesn’t need human interpretation companies will try to capitalize on a machine.

Weather has been nice up here. 30’s at night and 40’s-50’s in the day. Expecting some rain I think Friday and Saturday, but that changes all the time. Unfortunately I’m heading down to phx again this weekend otherwise I’d try to meet up with you.

It depends on how the government will deal with it which is a bit scary. In the study below it states some 375 million jobs worldwide will vanish by 2030 due to automation. A report by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says a startling 1.4 million jobs in the U.S. will be gone in just eight years.

 What company was that? I was doing a lot of 3D printing at my last gig where I got my foot in the door. That's what started this whole thing. I honestly now more about 3D printing than anything else. lol did it for like 3 years. creating models, prep/slicing, printing, maintenance, etc. We had 2 stratasys Dimension 1200's iirc.. and one brand new stratasys (forget the model number now) and dealt with PADT regularly. I want to pick up an at home printer.. have my eye on a couple... and get back into making parts.

Saturday morning.. doing all that until early evening.. then dinner in Flag Saturday night.

right on. perfect camping/sleeping weather

Just double checked and I guess it’s cooling down some. Looks like low 20’s overnight. But that’s for flagstaff not Williams. As always just keep an eye on it the next few days before you decide.

For those that need stickers, what side of town are you on? May mail to one person to distribute if we have multiple in one area.

Wow that’s a huge number...makes you wonder what people will go into then. That’s the problem with technology is as we get smarter less jobs exist. With 1.4 million I wonder where people will move to.

The company is based out of Prescott, its called Resawear. Small start up company, you might have seen some of their Kiosks in Costcos around the valley and nation. We made 3D printed "orthotics."

You should check out Joe Rogan's podcast with Andrew Wang, they go pretty in depth about it.

This is true, but they will also need more experienced and higher paid personnel to fix that automation when it breaks/needs maintenance. On the contracting/ construction side we are struggling to find qualified guys it’s a major issue.
