Is there any interest for OEM take-off wheels and tires? If got a set with basic valve stems with ~300 miles that I want to get rid of locally. I can post more info if anyone wants them.

Having spent so many hours underneath my Tacoma I figured I would roll under the 'runner today and just see what was up...

I'm looking at the front axles like "what're those, wha-" oh yeah I'm not in a prerunner anymore!

The T4R skid plate has all these odd holes and scoops with chicken wire in it though.

Of course the gears are already turning thinking "what's the first mod, what's the first mod?" :D

Since I have a V1 with no side doors I ordered some waterproof zippers and will be doing some sewing on this thing. Also will be adding velcro to the top and bottom between the snaps since this thing isnt even close to wind or bug proof. Definitely learning what a lot of people are upset about with these campers after spending $7000. Planning just a single zipper with a nice bend so it can be unzipped and opened as a flap to enter. Ordered a ladder that attaches to the side extrusion so when the weather is nice We'll be able to climb in from the side instead of inside the truck bed which disrupts the bedding in the tent. Also will make night time pee breaks a lot easier.

During my last oil change I noticed that both inner tie rods are leaking and driver side outer joint is leaking grease. The truck has just under 50k on it. Should I have rod failures this soon?

Are the inners leaking grease or oil? It all depends how you use the truck. Lots of off road and bouncing around then yes that’s not too short of a life for tie rod components. I think I blew through outers every 40k or so. Inners lasted a little longer. But if it’s oil at the inner then it is probably your rack

Looks to be oil. Noticed it on the boot. The truck see its fair share of off road but not enough to think they should be failing.

I honestly hate to hear that man, bummer on a big purchase for sure... But at the same time I'm happy to hear that because it really justifies our recent decision... Due to those same concerns.

We actually just finalized the process and snagged someone's spot/cut in line for a Super Pacific X1 camper. After years, ever since climbing around on Cliffs @tubbsisland GFC honestly.. we've been interested in a wedge camper and ditching our RTT setup. I researched to death the different companies out there, even almost went with AT, especially since they're local. We knew we wanted the standing room without having to disrupt the sleeping platform (our biggest complaint on the GFC and similar campers) and wanted a little more refinement as well. The X1 definitely fits our needs almost fully.. but.. you'll never get 100% what you want imo.. and we were lucky enough to snag a spot someone was selling. Hoping for August install!

Yep that’s the rack leaking for sure. The racks on these trucks suck

By golly that thing is expensive. You could probably snag a used cab over for around that price or cheaper. Have standing room, shower, shitter, fridge, and stove top. And I thought I spent a lot on my $550 gazelle lol

This is the reply from most people... Lol. I get it.. it's pricey. Hence my comment to ATL.. And I am truly bummed he feels that way, I'd be lying if it wasn't in the back of my mind either, but I like to think my due diligence and OCD, research shit to death, mentality will pay off. it's a purpose built truck for our purpose.. and the camper fits our purpose pretty damn well. I don't want a cab over. I'm trying to keep my footprint and overall size to a minimum/to the truck itself. If I wanted a full house like a FWC.. I'd get a 4x4 van at that point. Yes bathrooms and stuff are nice.. but that's different ball game. Plus.. we're gonna be keeping it simple. All modular and separate. No cabinet build out BS. Just a camper shell with a tent built in. And our gear packed away like it is now. The truck is a dedicated wheeling/camping toy now with no plans on going anywhere. So just like everything else.. we plan and make decisions for the long haul. It's going to be perfect for us and will definitely make us get out even more I'm sure.

Oh I’m just giving you a hard time. They definitely are cool and serve a very specific purpose abs function for certain people better than others. I actually really liked the way the gfc was framed out when looking at @Atl-atl a few weeks back. Seemed very strong and well built. My only complaint/ concern was that it still only tied into the bed rails. Something that big and heavy up high I would run supports down and bolt it to the frame through the bed bolts. But again I have very different needs than you guys when it comes to the truck. We almost did a rtt a few years ago and we are thankful that we didn’t. The way the truck has progressed and the use it gets a ground tent is a much better option for us. Keeps the truck capable of doing the things we want it to

Lol I know man. Just wanted to express my reasoning. Again.. helps justify it. Haha. We've been planning for a long time to make a big change like this. The RTT has served us well over the last 5+ years of having it. But over those years we definitely found the little things we wanted to just make our adventures easier and more enjoyable. We thought about going back to a ground tent.. so we could take the truck out.. but we rarely do that. our wheeling is done to and from usually. But.. that was another Pro imo to a wedge camper. Super quick and easy setup and tear down if we did want to hit some trails. I think it's built pretty damn well too.

What a coincidence! And yeah man! Well.. hopeful August install. So we'll be cruising up to Portland and then camp and explore on our way back down for a week or so. Visit Todd while we're there too. Was gonna hit you guys up actually and see if we wanted to get a group together and make a trip out of it.

The RTT might be going to my coworker who just bought Juan's Taco. Lol
