I have the SPC's and i havnt had a single problem for just about two years now. I didn't do the install or choose them myself but have been told that the adjustment is super helpful for alignments. I daily my truck and getting even wear on my tires is a big plus to me. Not to say you cant do the same thing with something else but they have been great for me.

How much offroad do you do? And you have the 4.0L right?

When I jumped to 33’s I went with 4.56 gears and absolutely loved it. Granted I am supercharged as well which helps. But I also say it isn’t worth the cost or effort to go to anything less than 4.56 gears. If you’re doing it then go for it.

Hey Ryan! i'm the guy you built the hammock rack for :pYes the 4.0L and I try to get out as much as possible that work allows. I would say at least a couple times a month if not more but i daily the truck around town. its pricy to do a re gear so i dont want to regret making the jump and wanting to switch a year down the line.

Doh, yeah you are and yeah you get out a lot. I’d go 4.56. It’s a good compromise between daily driving and off road especially for that tire size. I loved it with that size and only started wanting more as I jumped to bigger and bigger tires.

You’re also in Mesa so you can talk to Zuk at gearinstalls.com since he’s out in your area. The only thing he’s done in the last 30 years is toyota diffs. He’s who did my rear and will do my front when I have the cash. Might be worth getting his opinion if you are second guessing ratios.

You can also find a ratio calculator to estimate what your cruising speed rpm’s will be with your tire size and ratios. It’s been a while but if I remember on that size I was cruising at about 75 at 2600-2700 rpm? @XPOTRPR you are 33’s with 4.56 right? Does that sound right?

Yeah about that. 75-80 is about 2800 for me. 33's and 4.56's. keeping the 4.56's too when I go 35's

I'm running an Aluminum Pelfreybilt front, full 1/4 aluminum skids, and just ordered my rear dual SwingOut that's steel. Trying to tread that fine line.

I went 4:88 and did complete 3rds from ECGS.
I still DD it. Made a significant change in hunting gears on hills and 4 lo crawl was nice in Moab. Foot off the break slow in 4low+ low on the transmission.

Im not entirely sure how that would look! I've been looking at Coastal Off-road kits and they seem pretty decent. Didn't I see you do one of those for someone else on the forums recently?
