I’ve only heard good things other than they may need a re-arch in a few years but we’ll see. I’m going to slap them in on the morning before it gets too warm out. I’ll load up all my camping gear and more and give them a week to settle. Next weekend I’ll take measurements and adjust the front sit level when fully loaded. I’m very excited. I had OME and Dakars on my old single cab and it road pretty well so I’m hoping these rocks.

Bummer on the rough few weeks. Talking with people this week about work/ employees/ companies restructuring blah blah blah. And yeah, what you got going on is unfortunately becoming more and more common. Personally, I’m with you, fuck it pay us more and we’ll get the job of 2 people done. But employers don’t do that.

Good news is all that OT can pay for truck parts and one of these days I’ll find time to get your front end done lol.

Tell them what’s up. Good help is hard to find these days so let them know they need to pay you more. It’s always a balance of compensation vs responsibility. I could make a lot more money at my current job but I choose to not be responsible for a bunch of shit that will stress me out. Just not worth it to me right now. When it comes to work, you can’t always let them know how good you are or that you can do more than your job description says. Employers love to take advantage and get more than they pay for.

Sorry to hear this, but seems to be the attitude of too many employers nowadays.

Keep to the shallow end of that whiskey bottle, brother...it's like a red head...fun as hell, but will steal your soul.

Yeah, let's keep that a priority for sure.

One of us has a heavy, and only getting heavier every week, pig, that needs what is currently on the front of his truck ASAP.

Finally pulled my solar panel out of the box and got it mounted. Its a Renogy 100 watt flexible panel. Insanely thin, like 2mm. Mounted it with 3M UHB tape that is unbelievably strong. Its so thin it sits flush with the black frame of the GFC. Only the boxes where the cables are mounted stick up. Some day Ill also get around to installing my fan which will stick up higher anyway. Ill be controlling it with a Renogy Wanderer charge controller and Renogy app. I can add more panels if I ever want more power. Hoping to wire it all up this week.

I have left my refrigerator in the back of my truck for several months and the solar panel has maintained my auxilary battery without a problem.

    Hell yeah!

I'm in the process of designing my on-board, on-demand water setup, but my electrical setup is up after that. I'll be going full Renogy as well. Glad to hear that the panel is awesome, that's what I was planning on running myself.

Excellent. If you want to share what you did/chose I would enjoy that.

I'm doing dual battery too, but my house battery will live inside the ACCC, not in the engine bay.

I've got most of it laid out in my build. 13g tank, 12v pump, got some slick ideas for plumbing it and adding faucets. I'll be slapping together a temp/gravity fed setup for our trip next week. When we get back its game on for the dual battery.

Renogy seems like the most complete and streamlined equipment out there which is why I chose it. The only negative thing Ive seen about Renogy is lifespan of the thin flexible panels but it wasnt super expensive so I was willing to give it a shot.

Powered water is the only piece missing from my puzzle. Im patiently waiting to see what you come up with.

Do you know yet how you'll connect the house battery to the truck? The old FWCs I've remodeled had 16 guage wire running from a crude isolator on the trucks battery to glass fuses and then to the house battery inside the camper. I was astonished that any power made it to the house battery and the wires didn't melt themselves. Technically this was an appropriate size wire for the amps/distance but man Id rather be safe than sorry. I would usually run 0 gauge from a Blue Sea isolator to the battery and a bus block inside the camper and then appropriate wiring from there. My current dual battery setup uses a smart isolator but there is a lot of negative reviews of them online. People seem to run old fashioned isolator switches for the utmost in safety of their power but my current one hasnt left me stranded. knock on wood

For giggles, here is the wiring on an early 80s FWC Fleet I redid a couple years ago. Previous owner had wired in some "interesting" equipment.

I've been in talks with Powertrays and another member here for months regarding my power setup, gathering info, do's and dont's, and putting together wiring diagrams. This shit is not my specialty so I've been trying to take in as much as I can. I understand it a lot better now than before that's for sure.
