I'm actually looking to change to Verizon so the wife will go camping. She has a regular job but can work from home and I work weekends. So for us to camp it has to be during the week. She therefor needs strong data signal to remote in. Otherwise I'd stay w/ ATT as I like the dead zones when camping

I've had great luck with ATT for many years. So far only found one spot in AZ where it doesn't work. I just changed our plan from unlimited (grandfathered in from years ago) to their new unlimited and am saving big dollars. Around $125 a month for 2 lines.

On the rail I am assuming in a bus trans? Reverse is the weakest gear in there. Even in Mendeola's 2D "beefier" trans that gear is the same size as in a bus trans. I've seen them blow reverse just back up an incline.
If reverse is the only thing not working yours most likely needs to be replaced. Plenty of sand car trans places in the valley I am sure that could handle the rebuild.
Once it's fixed be extra careful while in reverse.

How are you contacting Verizon? Phone? Online? Brick and mortar store? Representative at another store (like Best Buy)?

I left Verizon because I got screwed out of my old plan by someone at a brick and mortar store. I thought they were all corporate stores. I found out it was a franchise-type store and the corporate stores are a lot more rare. Whether this is true or not, I really don't care because I left them. But if it is true, you may have better luck finding an actual corporate store. All I know is the one in Kileen, TX sucks goat balls and I would hope it goes out of business, but it never will thanks to Ft. Hood.

This happened in Chandler. My wife is pretty sure she's no older than 40 years old. Said she spoke perfect English and had no accent. I appericate the help man. It doesn't look good for us however as time is flying and we still are dead in the water with leads. I've drove to most addresses that would fit age wise and haven't seen the SUV parked anywhere near them. This just sucks.

I knew when I typed Tranny... there would be blow back (no pun intended).... it was a question of who would be the first!

Yeah, I've heard that about reverse. My rails are like boats... or @RPS1030 's truggy.... spending more $$ and work on them than they give back!

Want to see dead spots with ATT? Come to my house... office in the house, out in front of my house, every national park I visited this past week, MAJOR chunks of MOAB.... I'm pretty impressed with how bad they are... but I was with Verizon for 10 years or so!

T-Mobile stores have a horrible reputation. All the things I heard, before switching from the Death Star, was to only deal directly with T-Mobile via phone or online. It was simple and easy. I have had to deal with a store once, they did try and up sale stuff even though I only needed a new sim card.

@XPOTRPR Have you asked to talk to a retention representative at Verizon? They will tell you no, no, no.... right up until you say, OK I am out of here! Then they usually start fallowing all over themselves to keep you.

Once I get them both road worthy, I hope to play with them for a bit, then sell at least one.

That's interesting. I probably would have done the same if I read this post a year ago. I walked in and told them exactly what I wanted and I would be buying the phone outright and the rep was super cool and I thought the customer service was how it should have been. I was pleased with my visit, the one time I went. It had been years since I had a decent visit at my local Verizon store.

I think @BDMcGuire should hook me up with a friends and family before I run back to the dark side. :D:anonymous::crapstorm:

If you had wifi at the house, you could use TM on that for texting and calling... unless this all happened before they did that. That was one of the things that brought me to TM, since I was working overseas I could use a local SIM for work and do wifi calling back to the States. Granted, I believe Verizon does that now too.

Ask her what's gonna happen if you break something or are injured off-road and have no service. It's worth the extra money when you put some perspective on it.
