She's thinking about it now. Might buy it just to hang on to it. Unsure of how deep that rabbit hole goes and we just ordered new windows for the house.

 

I mean with a "brand new" 18 year old sc thats just been sitting in storage. Its one of those things that would be badass just to grab and hold onto. No matter what you would be able to sell it pretty quick for the same price.

 

Tiff has this and so far it has been great. Odd that it sticks out of the dash and you need a different install kit. But what is nice is the guts is a single din, not double. So lots of room for all the wires and shit to stuff up under the dash.

Whit needs. BT Navigation would be great. Otherwise everything else is extras.

Doesn't have WiFI android auto/Apple Car Play so you have to plug in your phone or get an adapter (Carsifi works great for that). They do make models that have that wifi features.

 

I really like the built in Wifi/Android Auto of my Pioneer AVH W4400NEX. IDK if its still available or if its been replaced.. I havent checked out that stuff in a while.

 

Wife texted and he's saying he is pretty sure it's not going to fit the v8 in her 4Runner.

 

Hey guys! So I did a little research and apparently there are 2 superchargers for 2UZ-FE engines. The difference is VVT-i. Sadly this one is for non- VVT-i. I think I could make it fit with modifications but don't really know what all is needed. Bummer!

 

Check these out. Came with harness that just plug and play to 2nd gen and don't need any bezels. Have mine for 4months now seems to be holding strong

yeah I was talking to her last night trying to figure it out. It more sounded like he didnt know the 4runner came with the v8 for a few years. But after more digging it was a upgraded motor in 05 vs earlier years. If she had a 04 it would have worked.

 

Interesting. More than I am able to spend at the moment with all the new purchases.

I asked you then started reading. Looks like a nice alternative and decent price for how much she really uses her stereo. She usually just has her headphones in listening to her podcasts.

 

I hear you hell it has features I'll never use honestly just needed it for the Bluetooth and handsfree calls

 

have you used the navigation? Seems to have mixed reviews there.

 

It does have Google maps but it's a little slow so I run my phone for Navigation. I did install the GPS under the dash behind the radio supposed to work better if it's on the dash but didn't want wires on my dash

 

cool good to know. I am pretty sure this is my answer for her truck. We are not big audiophiles so simple is better for our needs.


@Aw9d I forgot but the HU I have the volume knob is kinda messed up. When you turn the stereo up the volume will move up and down at the same time so we have to use the steering wheel controls to actually move the volume correctly.

 

It's okay I'm going to get her an aftermarket stereo. She's already bitching about it.
