I hate using services like that. I always get someone over to stay at my house, pay them, stock the fridge and munchies. So hard finding someone reliable. My vacation last month I flew my mom down from portland to do it.

I wasnt saying fly your mom in. I was just saying the lengths I have had to go to so my dogs would stay home instead of going to one of those places. Where you headed to that you need a sitter?

 

Sometimes you just got to do what you have to. Something like that for a puppy is probably helping her allot with getting use to other dogs and not being aggressive. Helps get energy out too so she is calm at home. Yeah i am sure its expensive but showing up home to a bunch of destroyed shit is expensive aswell. I had to get mine very crate trained before I let her start wondering at night and while I was gone. Her energy level is down now and still gets a hold of a tv remote or something off the counter every once in a while but nothing to crazy thank god. Got lucky we had the other dogs to train her up. She is only a little over a year old but has been getting free roam for 8 months or so. Turned into a good girl until she gets out the front door.

 

Believe me I get it. He gets spoiled and lots of life decisions revolve around him, even more so with our last dog Dexter. We inherited Dusty 3 years ago from FIL, the same week we lost our 8yo Dexter, was a crap week! We've got to head back to HI for some medical stuff.

We're likely going to go down the Rover route and get someone to live in. But I am just about to go check out a dog sitting house that's kennel free as another option, he's been in that environment before and it worked well, plus at $37 a night not horrendous pricing.

 

Well its a bit more of you being with out him. But I will be down near lake roosevelt camping this weekend and you can meet me there sunday afternoon and I will be grab him and take him home with me if those other options dont work out.

 

Well thats awesome. They have their own personalities for sure. Atleast youre taking strides to work with her and figure out whats going to work.

 

That's incredibly kind of you to offer and I know that'd he'd absolutely love it up in the mountains, but I'm hopeful of finding a good situation here I can't wait to get fully situated so that then I can swap dog boarding with other peeps that need it... #tacomaworlddogswap

 

It sounds like she's found some good and patient humans to live with... lucky dog!

Thanks buddy, Once we're able to settle I'll look forward to coming along for a meet-up. The AZ forum definitely has a lot more going on that the HI groups, they're pretty much non existent which is crazy considering the number of Tacos!

Oh sweet. Myself and a few of the other guys are headed up cherry creek rd to go camping. Are there any fire restrictions going on back there?

 

Nice! Love it back there. Make sure you check out the crested saguaro just north of the junction of Cherry Creek Rd and 288.

As far as restrictions, if I recall correctly we just put half of my district into restrictions but everything else is open.

 

So good on a fire, then?? Obviously were not blowing shit up and shooting fireworks.
Did you work with a guy name Shane McCarthy few yrs ago?? He's moved to SC since.
That Saguaro is pretty cool, can't miss it coming in from the north side before the turn.

I just double checked, no restrictions listed. All good to go. Explosives/fireworks are always illegal in the National Forests.

That name sounds vaguely familiar, but I know I didn't work directly with him if I did know him.

No worries. I got a huge promotion, I'm a perm now and work all year. Job is changing, we're busy all year. Only difference now is summer is project work and wildfires, winter is project work and prescribed fires. Haha. Thanks man, it's rough work but someone has to do it and I love it.
