I would think that you would need a 2" extension then with a 2" taller bump stop. Honestly I'm not sure I'd recommend this. The only reason these are not on my truck now is because I have the Dakar leafs. Icon and DSM says you need the extended shocks for the bigger leafs, but I didn't feel like dishing out another $500+ for the same shock that is 2" longer.

Sounds good, I'll let you know if anything changes

I have this exact setup. Except I wanted to see exactly how short they were with dakars. So, I unbolted both shocks from the bottom mount and jacked the truck up so the rear was fully extended. Whoever said they are too short was right except not by two inches but more like 7/16in. I always thought the dakars rode just a little stiff so I removed the top overload, which is about 1/2in thick. Worked out perfect. And I beat the shit out of my truck, nevrr had a problem.

I guess 2" is just the next size they can do, DSM had them in stock ready to ship when I inquired. I have the OME nitros (same length as the Icons) on mine now and they are 1" to short but I also have the D29XL extra leaf installed. As far as I know the OME are the only ones that you can run short without damaging them because they are designed to work with the Dakar leafs acting as a limiting strap.

Which means all he would need is limiting straps, or not jump his truck....
Shorter bumps allow for more up travel, however if the shock shaft and body are not short enough, depending on where top mount is you will bottom the shock out before you hit your bump.
Dont worry, he will flake out.
    this comment makes me LOL:rolleyes:
Only need one welder, a break, and a plamsa/torch to make this happen Q;)

This is why we don't let you fab on your own. Leave the thinking to the professionals:cool:
IF the body of the emulsion is coherrent with the location of the mount and full bump then he need not worry about his bump, it is his extension that he wants to worry about as the all pros will droop more than the shaft and body of the emulsion allow.
