Do not purchase anything from Karl in Tucson near Prince and I-10. I paid him and had a friend pick up a 4Runner Limited seat for me.
When I received it today the first thing I noticed was no lumbar lever or reclining lever handle. Then when I tried to operate the reclining lever, only one side would operate. The inner hinge is stuck. When I looked under the seat I noticed that the fabric cover was held on with zip ties. And the back foam is shot.
I have asked for my money back, he said he would try to find another seat, why not send a decent one to begin with.

Karl owns 1st rock auto. Very shady dude indeed. He sells toyota parts on the side out of the many toyota junk yards he has. If buying anything from him do it in person and be skeptical. He's a good resource for parts but you gotta be on your toes when dealing with him.

He would only meet in a store parking lot. That should have been the first sign of something wrong.

Eh, I do the same. Don’t really care for people to know my address and come and steal my truck.

He's not one I'd recommend doing business with period. But if he has what you need, just be weary. He can be haggled.

True, I thought it was a Craigslist run. Didn’t realize it’s his business

I ordered a drivers seat from a 3rd Gen 4Runner Limited, Karl said he had one with no rips or stains.

    This is what I received.

Upon further inspection I found that someone went to a lot of trouble to assemble a seat from at least two different Toyota 4Runners and possibly a Toyota Land Cruiser.

The rear frame is cracked almost in two

The bottom brace going across the rear frame was CUT out.

The right-side isolation plastic piece between the upper frame and lower frame is installed incorrectly

The left side isolation plastic piece is missing

The back foam was completely worn out on the right side, but not the fabric.

The back fabric used as a replacement is too large for the frame and not from a 4Runner, the bottom seat fabric is zip tied onto the bottom frame, and the leather headrest is from another model all together. The lumbar adjustment lever and bevel were missing, and no hole in fabric to allow them to work anyway. Also the reclining lever plastic handle was missing.

I hope to get the word out about this fraud and crook!

Jeez! It seems like it would be more work than it was worth to try and scam someone with a fucked up seat like that. There's a lot of labor in that to poorly attempt making a complete seat.
