It won't brick, it will just say it failed. My VM that I tested on failed 4 times and on the 5th it worked. I don't know why it was failing.

I have a SanDisk Ultra 64GB right now. It's been pretty solid with encryption and the horrible FAT32. I wish android would offer ext4 (or even just 2) as an option for the sd cards.

If you are rooted you can. Most custom roms I run have the option to format to ext4.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2424900 (old thread on how to do it for 4.2)

I'm running a modified stock ROM. I can mount it ext4 in a terminal, but only the terminal that mounted it can see it.

I used to do it on my old phones, but then Android would complain about unformatted/missing card. Some system apps wouldn't use it, such as the camera. Always fixing permissions. This was before Kit Kat though.

After today's barrage of shitty clusterfuck, the last thing I want to do is work on my PC.

I've only used it once and I know the rom had to support it because I did have to tell the rom in its settings to mount ext4 vs fat. I do recall getting some errors with it but I wasn't sure if it was the rom or the fact it was mounted to ext4. The rom was good, but never really stable.

I used to like running pacman roms. There was never an options to mount ext4 though. Had to do it manually.

Root and rom it, make it a torque tablet for the truck.

If you want to sell it I might have a buyer.

Depends on what it's worth. Probably not much though.

I'm still planning to root/rom the Nexus 5.

Really? The only issue I have is one of my old music programs won't load. I got it back in 1998 so I'm not very worried.

Other than that I've updated from 7 to 10, no issues.
Reverted back from 10 to 7, no issues.
Did a clean install of 10, no issues.

I am noticing the bootup time is slower than 7, however once the desktop is loaded I do not have to wait to use the PC.

Currently updating my VM to 10 as well to muck around with.

I rolled back to Win7. I am studying right now for a lab exam next week, and my IPSec VPN client didnt work anymore. The only method I use to connect to the lab gear. I figure ill muck with it later... much later.
