I believe so. I think the E3000 is supported by a few 3rd party firmware.

I haven't really looked through the differences between Tomato, DD-WRT and Open-WRT

From what I understand they are all basically the same. Some routers play nicer with the different firmwares. I've always been a fan of DD-WRT until I went to Shibby's Tomato. I just like the layout better.

What do you like about Tomato over the stock firmware?

We get excited over 100+ mbps Internet, but other countries are getting 10x the speed for less than half of the price.

It's been awhile since I used it but when I did the Qos policy actually worked worth a shit. Asus has never seemed to get it right where I thought it was worth it.

Plus it just seemed to rub better for me.

also got rid of Wondershare and the files associated with it last night. It started showing up as "program" after that. Had to run Autorun and then delete it. everything seems gravy now.

The ddwrt qos and website blocking works terribly.

I saw the biggest improvement in my cox service switching dns servers to Google or opendns.

I was considering getting a Linksys WRT1900ACS. It's supported by DD-WRT, but not Tomato that I can see.

I'll try out Tomato on my E3000 soon. The ability to block ads might just be reason enough to use Tomato.

I'm still banking it's Cox right now.

Good work on that. How late were you up to last night fucking with it? I came home and crashed. Just woke up because I have a stupid 5 hour meeting right meow.

yeah.. the fact that it got better definitely has me thinking its Cox as well. not too worried about it. I'll check it again when we get back this weekend.

Not too late actually. Those couple threads/forums we were poking around in at the end had some useful info in them with links to other forums reporting same issues. just followed one of the walkthroughs. all cleared up it seems. running good.

My gtx 1080 came in today. I didn't think it would be physically smaller than my 970s. Now I can play everything on ultra settings without any issue at all.

Yeah sometimes it seems like mainboards are shrinking, while video cards are growing.

You have an E series Intel?

What's up guys, figured I'd make an appearance over here in the geek thread. I'm a Network Analyst with SRP (thanks for paying your power bills on time, it ends up on my paycheck and eventually on my truck ). I handle our firewall, proxy, and VPN configurations and some cisco switch configs every here and there. Been doing this for about a year so still fairly new to a lot of the technology. I'm taking an online citrix netscaler class this week so was curious if there are any netscaler pros in here?
