Sometimes I wonder why I hold onto old computers. I don't know if it's because one day I'll find a use for it, or because I'll have a part that someone needs and can't find anywhere else. I have someone looking to get an old socket 7 PC from me. It's about 18 years old. Wonder what they'll use it for...

 

I do the same thing with old PC's. I got a few of them that are P2 processors and for some reason, I still have them.

They still work too!

 

Those of you that haven't bought any of the new games lately like myself, target has buy 2 get 1 on all video games could be some good combos out there, gears, titanfall, cod on Friday, battlefield, so on.

So my PC's power supply is making some weird sounds. I can hear what I'm assuming is a fan.. ramping up, and getting louder. I can put pressure or tap the power supply's case, and it will sometime temporarily fix it. time for a new one?

 

I have one that I bought and then list the receipt and can't return that you can have cheap! It's been out of the box 1x. It is not modular though, I can find the model and send you pics later if you are interested.

 

Thanks buddy. I may not need it. it stopped, and everything seems to be fine. I think it was just still warming up.

Fan might just be going out which you can crack the PSU and replace it.

Been through this many times with PSUs. The noise will come and go. One day the noise will come back and won't go away until the fan craps out. (PSUs from CompUSA were good for that)

 

I'll run it till it dies then.

Got another little goody for my pc. EVGA Powerlink. Just had to pay shipping for it, evga is giving them away right now to peeps that have a 10 series graphics card. Cleans up the inside of the case a bit and looks kind of cool.

 

Any input on this set up?
