I'm kinda burned on Samsung's TV/Monitors lately. Last round I tried.... they were all blueish... I'm sure that's fixed by now. But unless they stopped outsourcing panel display, i'll stick with LG for now. My roomie's Samsung developed a shit ton of issues right after the warranty went out on it, and come to find out the display was actually made at Sony. Go figure.... So far my four LG displays work perfect with no dead pixil's on any of them.

I believe that's the model I was looking at ($500 from Amazon and 575 or so from Walmart and best buy.

I am a little worried about the lack of inputs, but I should only have surround sound (HDMI, or the optical plug, depending on if i get a Console) a DVR (we don't have the service yet so I don't know the input options for that yet, but probably HDMI, or the HD VGA cables), possibly a Apple TV down the road (HDMI) and possibly a console.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll compare the different LG models and Samsung, and probably Sony (our family room has a Bravia that we're happy with)

You'd be surprised how many people don't know what easter eggs are in software. I made my Dev's put one in the software I work on, the GM found it, made us rip it out right away.

Almost every game out has something. Farcry 3 has the guy buried in the sand in one of the levels. COD's all have something. I think it was COD2 that you could zoom in with a sniper rifle and it had one of those scary pics with really loud noises that would make you shit your pants. I found that one on accident and about crapped myself.

Don't forget to buy a wall mount for it.

I've bought 2 wall mounts for my TV's from Walmart. 80 or 90 bucks each I think. Pricey yeah. But all the goodies they come with made me go back for a 2nd one. 2 nice HDMI cables. Cleaner. A surge protector that has the flip to side outlets. I love em.

You could easily fit more in that spot ;)

Two HDMI is really sufficient since everything is HDMI and if you're doing some type of sound setup, just do a receiver that has HDMI pass through (My receiver was like $160). And if nothing else, just get an HDMI switch box for less than $10

Also side note, these cables rock and are cheap.

That's the best part about HDMI, no need for expensive cables. Everything send in 1's and 0's so there is no reason for expensive HDMI cables.

Found one useful thing about jailbreaking an iPad. Having the ability to SSH into it and view the local file system is a gift from the gods.

Not digging the Fire Phone. I don't think it's going to go anywhere. At least Amazon has had an apps store for a few years so they aren't starting from scratch.

If you were a DBA you would hate it more and have to grow a ponytail. The longer the ponytail the more the knowledge and experience with it you have. :p
