It's not so much 8.1 and applications or known issues, it's the horrible UI that they did with it. Half tablet mode, half PC mode, WTF? It's just not intuitive like all other OS's out there.

Plus, for it to insult my network speeds when I have blazing fast internet pisses me off. How dar you M$! hahah.

And right?! I think they just like to piss ya off.

I can't read what's on the screen so I have no clue what the function of this would be.

I hate the way OSX handles memory. All I have open is Chrome w/2 tabs - TW and Gmail. Trillian and iTunes. iTunes isn't even playing music right now.

    16 total gigs of ram.

    2.58gigs free.

App memory is using over 11gigs alone.

I gave up on Chrome on OS X, I use lots of tabs and Chrome uses a separate process for each tab which might be faster for opening tabs but becomes a huge memory hog and then blows up.

Firefox of late has become a totally memory hog early on and is slow

So I've gone back to Safari.

The whole Activity Monitor and memory description is totally misleading on the mac. you might only have 2.58gb of memory free based on that but you could load up Piggie Photoshop and start processing big images and it will still show out of 'free memory' but the graph will still show memory pressure as low. I agree they should display it more in absolute terms.. but hey it's Linux and Linux operates the similar way.

not like windows when it says you have 8 meg free and the swap file is going like crazy and CPU is about to take a huge hit and the machine goes to a crawl.. you know you are out of Memory finally.

I will say the latest version of OS X has been much more memory friendly on my 16gb and 20gb systems.. but then again I pretty much had to remove almost all browser plugins... They really changed something core in the OS to break all the plugins and cause crazy memory/cpu utilization...

There is no Steve Jobs quality control at Apple, it's just like Windows where you have to wait till the 3 patch before it's been alpha/beta tested on the public.

I would be weary about selling those someone at Amazon sooner or later is going to notice they're missing 9 solid state hard drives and ask for them back or bill you for them.
