I'm coming back to Arizona this week for deer hunting. I really miss AZ, sometimes I wish I never left! Every time I see pictures of the southwest it makes me with I stayed.

Alaska has been good too, got my first moose this year, will go caribou hunting in early spring.

Honestly I'm up for anything. I'm not ready for a hunt yet as I am terrible with a bow but I'm practicing. I was just wondering if any one would consider going out with me when the time was right.

Yes. For sure. We've all been there in the beginning.
I agree with glory , pigs are a great starter with the bow.
I may suggest taking a hunter Ed course through AZ game and fish. Lots of good information.
Hunting is much more than slaying the beast ( ethics, meat care) etc.
Let me know when u want to go out. High powered optics in AZ are a must.
I'm talking like 12x56 power binocs and a tripod. These critters live in rough rugged country.

Hunts out here are really rough in the desert units. I use 10x42 optics and need an upgrade bad. Depending on what part of town you're in I'm sure you can find someone to target practice with.

I used to back home a lot, haven't been since I moved to az. Southern az doesn't seem to hold a lot of ducks.

Thanks guys for all the advice. I definitely plan to take a course. I of course want the challenge of a good hunt and shot but I am far more interested in the field stripping and harvesting of everything I can from the animal. I will also look into getting some nice binoculars. Does any one use binoculars with a built in range finder?

Took these two slammer bucks last weekend. My girlfriend shot hers opening day Friday at 477 yards and it scored 90 4/8. I shot mine yesterday morning at 472 yards and it scored 90 6/8.

I heard it's either hit or miss. It will be my first time duck hunting. Hopefully it's more hit.
