Well, saw tons of doe in 36A, but not one buck. Tough luck... still great times as usual though.

Javelina this weekend... went for a random, unscouted spot this year to shake it up. Toss up between the 5.56 or 30.06.

For pigs a 223 with vmax bullets do the trick. I've used an '06 and 300wm too but total over kill.

Yeah, my 222 is out of commish... now that's a GREAT gun. I've used the 06 before successfully (yes it's a lot) and I'm not sure my AR is sited in well for the hunt. I even used my 7.62r with irons once for the challenge. We'll see.

.223 is plenty. My girlfriend and I killed a couple with a .22 mag a few years ago. Both one shot kills.

Hahah, it's not a question of power, more like what I feel like taking! The AR isn't sited right because of some tactical shooting from last summer. I won't have a chance to fix the AR until I'm in the field on Friday, so... I'm leaning '06. Maybe I'll take both :/

Depending where you are going and how much hiking you're going to do, take the 06 as primary till you can sight in the AR. A few years ago I took on with my Aug.

Anyone been out in 20B? I did some wheeling out their this weekend and saw a lot of "No trespassing " and "PRIVATE Property". I basically stayed on castle hot springs rd. Should I go farther N ?07bdf46bcaad33a36f3d27428e1a692a_e045b25afcb0a80ef25aa0d7c7514f1c71b27e3a.jpgde702baa17ac99b68f3254ef10d7430b_4a06edc42aceb5e3d7c418af07224fb46b13e39d.jpg

20B was actually my hunt unit for javi last weekend, but I was in the Bumblebee-Cleator area. I don't love the unit because of the number of people out there (and a fair amount of closed areas).

Bumblebee-Cleator I don't know where that's at? But yes, the amount of people out their is definitely a huge disadvantage and disappointment.

Spring turkey next month. Those hunts are a draw. Need to put in the fall.
Feb javelina just got over. Of course predator - coyotes always open.
