I put in for 6b and 7e archery bull. Hoping to get drawn. I don't need to shoot a monster, I just want to hunt in sept.

I put in for Unit 27 Archery. Put the wife in for a cow tag, so hopefully going to at least fill the freezer this year.

There are some good ones in there! Had a couple buddies of mine pull a couple 320-340s out of there.

I love hunting in 27! Lots of weekend road bombers but once the weekend is over, it's like a ghost town and the elk start to settle down.

That's what I've heard. I want to hunt Unit 1 since my in-laws have a cabin there and I always see a ton of elk, but with 2 points I had shit odds of drawing a tag.

Anyone interested in hunting buffalo or white tails south of the border?

Killed this OK buck down there a few years ago. We were on a new ranch and he was the biggest buck we could find. Such a crap shoot sometimes.

Anyone in here do predator calling?

If so, do you guys play a whole bunch of different sounds or stick to one?

Mainly because, Idk if Yotes are smart enough to figure out that there shouldn't be so many different animals in distress at once.

I play a few different sounds.. I also use one of those spinning tail devices that looks like a failing victim. I set it out about 30 yards in front of me if using a rifle. Get yourself a higher spot to sit and watch. If you don't have a higher spot to sit. Just bring yourself a 6-8" ladder. Back it into some trees to cover your background. Sit on top of the ladder and get to calling.. I've had them and seen them come right up to the ladder without seeing us.

A buddy of mine has been hunting down south for over a decade and now he has secured a ranch and tags, he's guiding for deer and buffalo at this time. He is based in Tucson and does state units too. Here are some videos. He took that buffalo with a bow.

Nicely done gents! Again this year I get the big FU from the draw. The plus side is that I will be on glassing detail which means no death marching for me... :)
