Grats all around to everyone that has been able to fill their tags. Helped a few buddies on various hunts and it’s all been tough out there.

just wrapped up my Sandhill Crane Hunt this weekend. It wasn’t easy but my Hunt was successful.

Anybody doing OTC next weekend for deer? I’ve scouted a few places around Tucson and haven’t had any luck.

If you’re talking about OTC archery then I’ll be out there. There’s tons of areas here around Tucson. Where have you scouted so far?

Big time congrats and good luck to everyone out there. Did my first hunt ever and had an amazing time. I'd always been around hunting having my dad and uncles go on countless hunts and being successful enough. Until you go yourself, it will never give you the perspective or outlook of what hunting can really mean to you.

A little video my buddy made from a bit of scouting to the hunt itself

Did 37. I'm planning on going out right after work and looking at different areas. I live in Phoenix, but I'm looking for a desert hunt. I've been told to look at 21 as well. Anybody have some advice?

Unit 10 cow hunt has been brutal! Seen bulls but the cows are not to be seen yet.
Did a face plant on the second day and screwed up the rifle a bit. Got it cleaned up and ready to go in the field but my head was pounding the rest of the day. Still got a couple of more days to fill the tag.

Think so as it did not take the brunt of the fall. The barrel took most of it and seems fine so hopefully when I do find a cow it will shoot true.

I also started using walking/hiking poles, sticks on hunts. Ultralight and it's like an extra arm or leg.

My buddy has taken a spill and lucky he had a back up rifle , but it's not always possible to have that.

Have not been there. We are camped down Stone Lake and Comboy ridge. There are tracks and fresh droppings every where but the elk are elusive. Going to try the Big Bo ranch tomorrow early.

I'd imagine its been getting cold up there over the last couple weeks, herds might have moved further south already. Check out areas south and a little west of Rose Well Ranch that borders the Rez. Don't forget to check Big Bud and Little Bud tanks. Murphy Johnson Tanks.
