Congrats! That's an awesome buck. I'm 99% sure I was chasing that exact same buck during the summer. I'd see him only for a few minutes in the morning and then he would dissapear. Really cool she got him!

That’s pretty wild!! We caught glimpses of him Friday and Saturday morning but he never fed far enough down the hill. Do you have any photos of him in velvet?

I ran some trail cams on a spring and got a lot of photos of some good bucks but they moved off once we started to get rain and all the dirt tanks filled back up

I didn't get any pictures of him. I think he was staying high along the road the runs the top of that main finger ridge. There were a lot of puddles along the road that all the deer were hitting during the summer. They preferred those puddles to the tanks for some reason. I'd see him in the morning on those grassy hillsides and then maybe 30-60 minutes after first light him and his bucks would disappear down in the bottom. It was super thick in August too so it was pretty hard to glass. But I'm looking forward to getting back out in December.

Definitely hard to glass in there but that’s why I love it!! It’s hard to imagine some of these bucks make it living that close to a road. But most of the road hunters are driving around and looking off of the hills the deer live on.

Thinking about just trying out a new unit for the Dec OTC hunt. What are some of the more enjoyable units to hunt in Dec?

The 36’s are nice . Whitetail only . But some stalkable possibilities and good glassing.
    January will even get better.
There are still rifle hunts in Dec ( much less tags), but I think the deer stay up on their feet longer .
Good luck and any deer with a bow Is a trophy .

15 years ago I was very pleased with how AZGFD ran things. Now it is like California came in and took over :annoyed:

    Heads up Ya'll....

My Swaro rep just reached out.. Looks like everything is going up in price for 2022, said 80% of optics will go up at least 100 bucks.... if you're on the fence, might be a good time to pull the trigger...
