This is what I keep in my truck at all times. Pvc target stands and those gong stands. I like the tarp incase I decide to get on the ground and/or to catch brass.
The Plano behind it has my recovery gear, not FAs.

I have something just like that! I think I showed them to you the last time you were here.. If we can line this pig up before the end of the month, I can probably make it.. I leave for my international trip on the 28th for a few weeks.

Nice to meet you @DevilDocAZ . Nice shooting! Had fun with the Garand after doing some load testing for the AR.
Glad I took out the hunting rifle as the fall during hunting season moved the zero just a little bit. Now, need to load more for both the Garand and hunting rifle!:(

Damnit. I need to shred a pig this weekend. I'll catch it next month?

Slightly off topic. 10.5" 9mm and 223. With a can, recommended handgaurd length?

Also, selling three handgaurds, a piston upper, a kak flash can, and Noveske Flaming Pig in classifieds.

If you guys are not starting until 8-9 I might come out for some fun.I need my beauty sleep!
More than likely will only be able to shoot 100-200(steel at 200 or we can put up a target) due to weekend days when the HP division does not have a match it gets crowded early. The plinkers get there early!!!

This is the most current guest policy. It was changed/modified while I was on the board due to some people just dropping off guests than said guests destroyed some of the property. Just FYI. https://www.phoenixrodandgun.org/Policies/PRGC_Policy_-_Guest_Policy.pdf
Now, what do I want to bring and what ammo do I have loaded up!!!

Just wanted you to know. It tends to be busy in the mornings when no matches. We can always talk to the other shooters but after seeing how bad some people shoot at 200, I might have to excuse myself so I don't say something and get in trouble. ;)

I am up to do some desert shooting too if don't want to hit PRGC. Wouldn't mind shooting some handguns and practicing from the holster/multiple targets etc.

Everyone has covered it pretty well so far- tuck the can if you are going to run it nonstop.

Otherwise I would run a rail as far forward as you can go without putting it in the blast of a muzzle brake. An inch clearance is really all you need IMO. Longer rail = longer sight radius, more room for accessories, the works. If you are really concerned about hand safety put a hand stop on there and you can run it double duty as a stop to push forward against on a barricade or other support.

I started experimenting with thumb over bore and because I have long arms the most natural position is really damn far forward on a 15" rail with 16" barrel:

I am actually pulling the weapon in towards my shoulder with that arm. On reload or other manipulations your support hand should always be solidly in place before you bring your finger into the trigger guard again.

I don't have anything fancy, but my Remington 700 30-06 has a new scope and needs sighted in lol

I was going to get my savage 22lr threaded but just saw the Ruger Precision Rimfire. Decisions Decisions. My savage was my first rifle.

Decided to go with a Samsung Evo 12.37" on the AR9 to go with the Mystic X.

Still looking into a rail for the 223. I plan on using the hybrid on rifles and am thinking Midwest Industries SP series. I am going to see if that 0.01" in spec difference is true between the hybrid and Samson but not thinking it will work.

I'm still debating. $400 seems to be the going rate if I can find one.

George recommended that this person to thread my barrel.

Or, if you want to do pistols at shorter distances around the same time:

Just to the right of that range is the practical pistol range, come join in on the IDPA match!

Interesting as I never had any issues going up to 24gr with an AR. Figured a bolt gun would be able to handle the pressure well. Do you know what chamber you have? I have wylde chambers in all my comp AR's.
