I've asked for Larue gift cards for Christmas. If I get any I'll probably get back into a grendel.
Been looking at Optic's. Liking the PA 1-8 with their ACSS reticle. Also like the newer Lepould VX5 (I think) and of course Nightforce but $$$ on the last 2.

    LoL you sound like me!

    Although I do have a 2nd gen PA 1-6 ACSS on my 16” 556 that I like a lot!

I have a Viper 3x9 on my 9” 300blk that is amazing for the price I paid for it (super sale at cabelas)

We am trying to find something better for my 10” SIG 556 than the PA red dot and crappy 3x magnifier.

The problem with the SIG 556 is the bore height/cheek weld. I have a cheek riser that works great for AR height optics but it prevents weapon functions with the stock folded which sounds silly because you wouldn’t ever shoot it properly folded but I find it annoying, because it was designed to do so.

I would love to get a NF for the LaRue 260 along with a suppressor exactly like Mike’s that I have it bought yet.

I have 2 of the VX-R 1-4's. Can get them for around $400 used and they are awesome. I compared it to the vortex equivalent. The Leupold had better glass, better eye box, and lighter.

I've had 2 of the PA 1-6's and both broke. One on a SCAR which is understandable and I forget what happened to the 2nd one.
The newer 1-8's get good reviews and I like the reticle. I also like the reticle on the NF 1-8. What don't you like about it Josh?

Chris-sounds like you need a lower mount for the Sig? What height do the Sig guys recommend?

Took the 1911's out for some fun today!
Need to up the charge on the reloads as the new springs in the one 1911 does not like them too much. Shot the factory loads just fine.

I tried to install a cajon gun works kit in a CZ SP-01.
Holy shit what a pain. Ended up ruining a $78 hammer :( Talk about tight pins!
    Shit happens.

Is there anyone interested in purchasing a "Like New" Steiner 5-25x56 M5Xi Military Riflescope with G2B Mil-Dot reticle? It has been stored in a gun safe and I'd be surprised if you could find a single blemish. It was mounted on a Sako A7 300 Win Mag and was shot a total of 22 times. Let me know if you are interested. I am located in Tucson. Thank you.

The only regret on the SpecterDR i have is the weight. you could drive a truck over them.. and I actually really prefer the 1-4 switch... the glass it top quality. Backlighting is spotty but it's all etched and works great as a red dot.

Went back out this morning. 150 rounds at 1059 yards. I did OK.
Wanted to try a Larue 5.56 suppressed with a new bootleg adjustable carrier, hoping it wouldn't be as gassy. It's still gassy AF, kind of disappointed.
Going back tomorrow with AR's at 300,400,500.

I could run the Larue can which has way less back pressure. It's heavier and I'd have to change the muzzle device. Plus this AR is a pencil barrel.

They are higher in back pressure for sure. It's usually an issue on AR's. Have used it on quite a few.
No idea on the gas port size.

I've been noticing a little resistance when sliding the TQ suppressor over the brake due to the carbon build up. I read a few people recommended CLR to clean it. I let it soak for 2-3 hours. I was able to wipe off 60% of it with a rag. I got most of the rest off with a wire brush and the really caked on stuff I used a knife to scrape it off. Cleaned the ports with a knife and Q-Tips and she's much gooder now. Ran a few patches down the barrel and put a light coat of oil on the brake. TQ slips on much easier.
I should be able to shoot twelve miles now icon_smile_big_2c8e93b3286ece0adf6be24dc0a5882f6114447e.gif
Apparently my load is not fully burning. Hate not burning a load!

The bolt was pretty caked up also. I've been using the machine gunners lube. She's all cleaned up now.

Don't worry about the calibration as the markings are clear and just sight it in like you would normally. I have it on my Tavor which is already heavy... but's all back weighted so it's not really a big deal. I'm more saying if you are coming from a red dot.... I'm a photographer so the glass and clarity is totally worth it

Another fun morning. Had targets at 300, 400, & 500.
    Played with the 5.56's suppressed.
