Speaking on nodes; I'm working on a load for a .260 semi-auto. 1st attempt was a few days ago.

Considering the below results, where should I go from here? Only thing I will be changing is add another .001 to neck tension when the bushing gets here.

Made 6 each of Hornady once fired brass, Federal primers, Hornady 130 ELD-M using H4350 powder at 2.795 COAL. Charges were from 39.5 to 42 grains in .5 increments.

I shot 3 of each starting at the lowest charge up to the highest then repeated.

Since neck tension was questionable on 2 rounds I hand fed each round.
I screwed up saving a couple of the strings in the Magneeto Speed.
Between the 2 targets it’s hard to say which is best but the 41.5 gr seems the most consistent.

In the first pic I like targets #1 and #6. I always try to find the groups with the least amount of vertical dispersion. SD can be deceiving so I let the target tell me what the gun likes.
I don't have much experience loading for 260, especially for a gas gun so take my advice with a grain of salt.
Were able to get any factory ammo to shoot well? Do you know what chamber you have or the chamber diagram?
I fell in love with Forester dies and once you figure out the exact neck tension you need you can send it in to them and they will hone it for you for $10-15 dollars. Hate messing with the bushings.

I'm down. Haven't been on my built .308 in awhile. This Sunday might not work, but future events definitely.

Plus by then I should have my brand spanking new Vortex Razor HD 27-60x85 to try out.

The SD between the 42's are pretty close. I didn't make any changes that I know of.

Factory Hornady 130 ELDM shoots about the same as my loads.
I think the differences in targets are all me:

Really like targets 2/3 on that pic. I would try a little latter test-start at 41.5 and go up to 42 and see what happens. Wouldn't even chrono them when testing. If you can get the neck tension close to the factory you should be good to go.
How far do you want to be able to take this out too?

    I can't make it Saturday.

I've take this to 1K but not consistently. I have a target camera on the way that can help me see the hits at that distance to help better dial it in.

Looked in the safe this morning and cannot figure out what to bring. Just don't have many fun guns that I can take past 200. Could bring the match rifles out but they are boring unless I am practicing. Once I get home from work will figure what to take. This has me thinking of building a new tacticool rifle for some fun.

Tikka's are excellent rifles with an adjustable trigger.

Keep it the wood laminate. Get another one and make it tacticool! Best of both worlds

Any websites y'all use to get parts? I got a used marlin model 60 and I want to replace the internals... Jams and failure to extract like a mother.
