I have the butler map and downloaded the route from the BDR site and put it on Gaia. The BDR site is going to have the most up to date route as they change it as roads close, etc.

I'm cool with what ever roads as long as sliders arent needed. Haven't gotten around to getting a set yet.

Sounds like we are good then. I’ve been playing around with the GPS coordinates on GAIA this afternoon and feel pretty confident with the navigation. Not sure if you guys checked out the corse in detail but it does look as though there are quite a few miles of pavement on the trip.

Totally new to the GAIA app... but now that I know how to use the coordinates from the AZBDR website it's pretty awesome!. I did notice though that there's two routes with the coordinates provided from the website. There's a standard route and alternate routes (some alternates are easier while some alternates are harder). Did we decide which route we're taking?

Yeah, I typically build out the route myself on Gaia while referencing the downloaded file on Google Earth so I learn more about the finer details. There's definitely a couple sections of highway that are longer than I'd prefer but nothing you can really do about it.
Yeah, I have the alternates marked appropriately on my version.

As far as making the decision of our exact route of travel, I figured we could spend a little time each morning going over the game plan. I'm of course not leading this so I'll leave that up to whatever @Ace115 wants to do or has planned.

Wouldn't worry about sliders too much. I don't have them either and there were no spots, in the first 2 sections at least, that you would need them.

Being totally honest, I don’t mind at all not leading this and I’m sure some have more experience than I do. That being said, I’m up for a challenge and would very much appreciate input/suggestions/recommendations.

I’m daily driving my Taco now too. Love being able to drive trails in the same vehicle I use during the week.

Yup, same here. I do have a backup vehicle but I mainly drive the Tacoma. Even with the RTT on the rack.

Well, I vote for the longer route that you and I did on section 2 at least. That loop and then a ton of highway driving doesn't look nearly as fun.

Sounds like it is gonna be a muddy adventure for sure. FR799 going through canelo pass was especially slick in the mud

I really wish I could make it out for this one! Going to be in Nashville for a wedding that weekend. Can't wait to join some Taco outings this spring/summer though!

The later, there is not much in terms of sketchy mountainside driving once you descend from Montezuma pass. Still in the lower desert where there is not as much rock on the road they can get pretty slick in the mud and it would not take much to end up in the ditch. I had a few sideways moments leaving the AZT in the rain 2wd but a little white knuckle driving coming out of there.

Re the route I think the original route that parallels the 83 up to the 10 would be the least amount of pavement option. instead of that half loop doubling back to the 90
