I was actually accepted to Embry-Riddle out of high school, at this campus no less. But, we were eternally broke growing up, so no money. And my grades sucked, because I was Captain Underachiever, so no scholarships. The Navy came along flashing cash for enlistment bonuses for the nuclear program, off I went. When I was applying to jobs here in Prescott, I applied for an admin position at Embry-Riddle and I was all joking with them, "Hey, I think my mom still has my acceptance letter from 1986 still stashed away in a cupboard somewhere. Does that score me any points?" Apparently it doesn't.

Will do. I'm on swings this month, so likely your home already, since most of the Air Force is 8-4 these days, lol.

I was born and raised in south Louisiana. I like it here, but feel like it's time for a change. I'm interested in moving to Arizona. My wife is open to moving if we could find work (without me having to take too much of a pay cut). She's a teacher and I do electrical and instrumentation design for an engineering consulting firm. I spoke to my boss today about opportunities for me to relocate. We have offices in Phoenix and Tucson. If everything works out, this probably wouldn't happen until next summer.

Born in Phx raised in Heber. Lived in Pa for 5 years and came back.

Carmen for the railroad for 6 years. I only get to fix the rail cars and have nothing to do with them blocking every intersection you need to cross.

Don't know about the Phoenix area but teachers in Tucson don't get paid CRAP. Pretty much poverty level salary. Just a heads up.

    Same over here for teachers.
As for me, the boss said even if one of the other offices couldn't support another full time employee, I might be able to work remotely from there. That's kind of a pain in the ass though. I've worked out of or San Diego and Portland offices before. It's just too much of a hassle trying to handle everything by phone and email.
I dunno, I guess I have plenty of time to look and weigh options. I'm in no rush.

Thanks for your service and telling me when I'm in the hood and need to be carrying.

If there is anyone looking for work, my company is looking to fill quite a few haul truck drivers. I think starting is around $17/hour with plenty of overtime. And they have a super 7 schedule so you end up getting a 7 straight days off every month. No experience needed. Only downside, you'll have to live about 45 minutes away in Safford for a few years or rent/buy a trailer you can live in an rv Park about 20 minutes away.
