Born and raised in Orange County, CA. Lived there for 43 years. Saw so much change in Cali to include waaaay too much building, traffic, shitty firearm laws and population explosion to name a few - not to mention other liberal politics in CA that blow goat. Wanted to escape the rat race and slow down the pace of life. I was in search of a place to live that was literally the opposite of where we are from. Moved to Dewey, Arizona in August 2016 and I literally feel like years have been added to my life (this is a good thing since I have done way too many things to take years off my life). My folks bought a house down the street and they couldn't be happier. Four distinct seasons, no traffic, clean air and a super slow pace of life (which I am sure has everything to do with how many blue hairs we live around - but you have to give to get). Shit, this is a thread about what we do huh?!

I have worked in residential mortgage lending for 24 years. I currently process residential mortgage loans (I am the guy who pushes all of the paper you have to submit when you apply to purchase or refinance a house) but have worked as a loan officer, sales manager and branch manager. I opened a branch of our company in Vegas during the two worst years in the recent past for mortgage lending (2007 and 2008) and in arguably one of the worst markets as it relates to loss of property value. I am blessed that I now get to work from home as Dewey is not a place you move to for work.

Currently sitting in a hotel room next to John Wayne airport as I am in Cali for work this week training a group of people how to process mortgage loans and I can't wait to get back home. Been here since Sunday night and it didn't take long to want to get the hell out of here. Thanks for reading.

Moved here about 5 months ago, fresh outta college to be a SysAdmin for some call centers and Marketing associate for online branding for the same call centers. Sort of an interesting gig, pays decent, and I have all the time off I could ever want for trips and such. Just really missing my homeland still, wanna be here for five years max and take my savings back to Eastern Washington and buy some land. I miss seasons, snow, mountains and such haha. But I guess cactuses and old people can be entertaining in their own way too haha.

I have a few apps under review for almost a month so far, is that a good sign? Most seem to get rejected within a week or two so I am hoping it is :fingerscrossed:

Lived in AZ Since 2008. Moved here for Tech school. Did the Dealer and Performance Shop thing for a while. About 4 years ago I stumbled upon a job At Toyota Proving Grounds as a Dynamics Evaluation Technician and I absolutely love it. It's been much better as a day job than working on Ol' dirty broken down vehicles. Now I only have to do that when I want to work on my own rigs in my spare time.

It's a great gig for someone mechanically minded like myself. I do different things from day to day also, so that keeps my interest as well. One day I may be fabricating stuff in the machine shop, and another I may be driving vehicles at the limits for testing. Other days I may just be changing some parts, or I may be doing desk work and handling the logistics of various projects. So its nice, it keeps me on my toes and keeps things from getting stagnant and boring.
