I was lucky enough to have a chance to go for a ride in the Liberty Belle.
    Allways wanted to do this.
Wow is not enough to describe it.

Awesome!! I got to go in one of the last flying B-17s and a consolodated B24 Liberator "The Dragon and his Tail" Several years back. My granfather flew both and was shot down over germany and held as a POW for a few years. He escaped and went on to test and fly the F86 sabres during the korean war. He was also golden glove champ in the Air Force and retired a msgt.
Here he is 2nd from the right.

too cool! I am sure if I pulled some strings I could fly in some military planes. My grandfather was one of the engineers that designed the f16 fighter jets.

I flew in that B-24 about six years ago. It was awesome. I was home sick with the flu 101 fever when I saw it on a local news channel. Took a shower, loaded up on ibuprofen, and had a helluva great time.

Good for you OH-MAN! There are so few of those great planes left in the world I'm glad you had the opportunity to experience flying in it.

Sweet!! I think I flew in it when it was on tour with a B-17 and B-29.
Just dug this old pic up of me at the monroe co. airport. I think it was around 2003? I wanna say it was $100 to fly.

Yeah the Liberty Belle B-17 flying fortress comes here to Bakersfield every so often to fly people. I think they charge $400-$500 or so for an hour flight. Not bad on price, to fly in something so rare, they use the money to keep up on maintenance and such. But if I remember right, it was not flown in combat operations in WWII, but still cool none the less.

My favorite plane is the B-17, hopefully one of these days when I have the time I'll take a flight in it. Last time it was in Bako it flew right over my head, very cool to look straight up at it. It was coming in for a landing at the Airport.

    Here's more information on it:

Yes indeed $430.00 for a 30-45 min. flight.
I would have paid double but don't tell them.
Check the site for the schedule I think they go to Vegas next.

Great folks keeping something like that around for us to see touch and ride in.

    .

Several of those vintage war planes come through Atlanta PDK Airport every year and next time I might go for that flight.

I almost did a ride like that last summer ... thanks for posting your experience.

That's awesome dude, I went up in an old Piper cub earlier this year, can't really compare to a B-17 but was still pretty cool. A lot more soul than the 152s I usually get to fly
