    I have not read this whole thread so pardon me if this has been answered. I've just ordered my B.A.M.F CMC plates. I plan on cutting this weekend. Is is OK to leave the cut open for a few weeks until I find someone to weld the plates for me? I just added my 285's and am rubbing so I would like to cut asap.

    I see the wisdom in that but I honestly don't care if they can't make it look pretty when they weld it. Just wondering if there can be any harm done by leaving it exposed.

    You’ll be fine. I did the same thing with mine. It also saved me some money since I made the cut myself, and all they did was weld.

    Yeah, it's not too cheap. I just called a semi-local shop (160 miles away) that does them all the time and come highly recommended; they charge $295 for cutting and welding. I will definitely take it there but for now I plan on performing a mini-cut on just that area currently rubbing.

    Stupid question but I assume that once you do the CMC you void your frame's warranty correct? So if you happen to have rust issues later you're out of luck with Toyota?

    Only if they can prove the modifications caused the rust. if a CMC is done right no one would even be able to tell anything was done unless they know what they are looking for.
