The first set powder coated and installed  I'm going to do a little more driving around before i cut the others just to make sure no changes need to be made. And Cody no trimming of your stock skid is needed. You guys will however need to drill a 3/8 hole in about an inch of cast steel and it's a pain. I used a 1/8th, 3/16th, 1/4", 5/16th & 3/8th to get the holes drilled and i snapped 2 3/8th viking bits

Yeah it's not going to happen unless you use a small bit at first and step it up a little at a time. I'll put together a bit kit for you guys who want to have a headache free install.

To the first genners planning on this, just make sure you use a nice amount of machining/cutting oil and keep putting it on. I have to do 3/8 holes a lot on some thick steel for my work and holy crap does that make a huge difference.

I agree and in my experience (at least with aluminum and I know that is way different then steel) put a shit ton pressure with the cutting oil (I used WD-40 because I was too lazy and cheap to buy some) and let the drill turn slowly.

    1st Gen update!

The skids are working perfect on my truck I've flexed it out with no clearance issues with the Budbuilt IFS skid I don't know about other skids on the market but stock and Budbuilt are good.

I'm cutting/Building yours on Monday (I want to wheel my truck to make sure no changes need to be made) then we will powder coat and ship your skids.
