Should make it a rule for people to put their States in their thread title.

 

I would visit it everyday, most people need to investigate there states firearms rules before buying, i will look for links to states rules im on ar15.com and i think they have a link for state to state rules ill try to find it and maybe the links can be a sticky on top of the page for new peeps looking into guns!!!!

 

The only thing we need to make sure happens is that all the laws are followed. The last thing we need here is for an investigation into illegal firearms sales. That will get us shut down ASAP.

 

It sounds cool to me, but is there that many people really trying to sell guns on here?

I've been trying to sell my AK74 for two weeks now with no luck (lot's of lookers no buyers)

 

I've bought guns on gunbroker.com and had good luck with them. A purchased gun has to be shipped from one FFL dealer to another. They typically have a small fee on each end. By the time you pay those, the great deal you thought you were getting usually turns into just a good deal.
You certainly could do it on TW but I don't really see what anyone would gain when you could just list it on gunbroker and have way more viewers.

im not into guns but it would seem like it would get some good traffic on here.... (seeing how every day i see a new thread about guns) i say yes

 

FFL to FFL should cover everyone involved. I'm in!

 

If shipping a firearm it must go from FFL to FFL in most cases. In some cases it can go from person to FFL, depending on your state and firearm.

In any case, the firearm must be shipped to an FFL for transfer to the individual.

There can be exceptions for face-to-face transactions. In VA, no FFL check is needed for a face-to-face transaction with a Virginia resident. No private sales to a non-Virginia resident.

I think there should be a sticky that this section of the forum is there for the purpose of conducting lawful firearms transactions and the board owner, moderators, etc shall not be liable for any transactions conducted through this forum. I think the section should be age restricted (21), as if you were walking into a gunstore.

I think this would be a good idea. I have a collectors FFL (curios and relicts) and LOVE to shop old guns. WWI and WWII, up to current collectables. US military martial arms is my passion, beside all firearms used in the 20th century wars. I too have used Gunbroker.com. With my C&R FFL, I can legally sell to another C&R FFL holder. There are liabilities though, but is the risk of the seller and buyer, not the TW forum.

There's no way to enforce that. If John Doe trying to sell a hand gun, and Joe Blow posts that he wants to buy it... What's to keep John from finding another way to ship it to Joe? With all of the laws about guns, I think the site would be running a HUGE risk having a loosly regulated gun store. If this were my site, I wouldn't take the risk.

That being said, I'd visit the thread from time to time.

That's a good idea, but how in the hell do you enforce that? I could change my birthday, or create a new profile.

 

There is no age restriction to walk into a gun store.

There many sights out there that are gun related and haven't had a problem, it's up to the seller to make sure they are not selling to a prohibited user. I just ask someone and have them sign a bill of sale, that way I am not responsible if something happens down the road. I have done my due diligence, and if it just doesn't feel right I won't sell them the gun.

So how do you regulate being responsible?
