Got yah. Yeah you might have to end up pushing your seat forward as well. Originally I thought you were looking for pictures of a car seat in the back middle seat. I'd say well over half the cars I do with seats behind the passenger or driver....they end up moving their seat forward.

Most places like Walmart, Babies R Us etc will let you take the display out and test fit it. This will give you an idea of what seat to buy that will fit your vehicle.

We have a pair of cheap seats we picked up on Craigslist in our double cab. Its tight but it works for 3 year old twins, thought you get kicked in the back of your seat a lot.

We didnt want to spend a lot of money on seats for the truck as we typically take long road trips with the kids in our Honda Pilot, and we spent $$ for good seats for that one a while back. If you want to maximise the use of the limited space back there - look for these seats, they are called Radian 65.. the company that makes them is now called Diono. These things are built as beefy as a jet fighter ejection seat (metal frame) and they are narrow enough that we can easily fit an adult in the middle seat of the honda for long road trips.

I think this is the current version: http://www.amazon.com/Diono-RadianR100-Convertible-Seat-Stone/dp/B005MQR794/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_0_1

Sorry I dont have any pics at all with seats in the back of my truck as I dont have any kids of my own.

I did not know this either but thats cool they let you do that.
I'm hoping you didnt buy used seats on Craiglist. Not saying you did but problem with used seats is you dont know if they have been in a wreck or not. They are just like motorcycle helmets....once they are involved in a wreck they shouldnt be used again and destroyed.

I have a baby car seat in my dclb and it is in the middle strapped down with the hooks and the center seatbelt. Still have plenty of room on both sides.

If your latch straps are long enough you can hook each side up to the inner latch to fit the seat or base in the middle.

Dont strap the seat down with both the LATCH and the seat belt. Pick one or the other. A lot of parents think if you use both its safer but its not. They were designed to be strapped down only one way.
Check your owners manual and it will tell you what seats are set up for LATCH. Do not use the inner brackets of the outer seats to strap the seat down in the middle if it wasnt made for it.

Oh I absolutely did. We bought from a family in town, we know they are not crash and not expired.

On a side rant. It really amazes me sometimes how much kids stuff gets thrown out barely used every year. Thousands of tons of car seats, strollers, cribs, toys going to landfill because people have been taught that used anything is gonna kill their baby.

We had 2 cribs that looked brand new, couldnt sell them, couldn't even donate them to the church?!. I had to cut them up with a sawsall and put them in the trash. Its a travesty when you consider how many young families out their are struggling to get by.

But the companies that make this stuff are laughing all the way to the bank since they have us programmed so well.

How the heck did we survive growing up in the 70s without all dying a gruesome death? Or how did my parent survive the dark ages ... err I mean the 1940s.

Bilstein 5100's . Add-a-Leaf. Interior LED's. Husky floor mats. Thule rack. Various little things...
Rear facing was in the passenger side rear with passenger seat a little foward since the wifey is a little shorter. Forward facing was behing me. Now both are forward facing. The middle is for all their stuff to fight over.

Forward facing in my DCLB is manageable, though I wouldn't go so far to say that there is plenty of room, because that is not the case at all no matter what car seat you have.

Rear facing sucks for the passenger as the seat needs to be moved forward a great deal.

I agree with what you said and yes, most car seats that arent expired and never been in a wreck probably dont have to be cut up and thrown away. When parents come to see me to upgrade to a bigger seat and their old one is still good I tell them to either keep it for the future or give it to someone they know that can use it. When they dont need it and I eventually tell them that I destroy them they usually keep it after that. Your right though....its like my dirt bike helmets....if I have a wreck that isnt to bad I'm not just going to chuck it after that. I will inspect it then if its still good I'm still going to use it especially since one of them cost me over $400!!

Yep... its not even so much the car seats.. I can kinda understand people being cautious when they dont know history.. Its more other stuff.

For example with the twins we had a couple really expensive double strollers. My wife loved this one called the City Mini, which is a side by side double that's is narrow enough to fit through a single door. that thing cost us like 450 (ouch). We tried to sell it at 2 years old, still looked new, and had a hard time getting $50 for it. really?

And those cribs I had to destroy. What I read was after a couple of recalls on drop side cribs, rather than just stop production of drop sides, they made a law banning any sale of used cribs built before 2011, drop side or not. Mine where not drop side. But yet off to the landfill they go.

    such a waste.

Yeah I understand what you mean and where you are coming from. When it comes to kids safety people take it pretty seriously and as well they should but some stuff to me is just overboard sometimes.

Yep. The middle is where we store all of their crap. I got this center console thingy on clearance at Walmart that works pretty good at containing it all.
